MARGARITA STEAKS RECIPE - (4/5)



Margarita Steaks Recipe - (4/5) image

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/4 cup tequila
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
1 tsp grated lime peel
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp lime juice
1 to 2 fresh jalapeño chilies, seeded, chopped (optional)
2 (10 to 12oz.) beef steaks (3/4 in. thick)

Steps:

  • In shallow glass baking dish, combine all ingredients except steak and mix well. Add steak, turn to cover and coat. Cover and place in fridge at least 4 hours to marinate, turning a couple of times. Heat grill. When ready to grill, remove steaks from marinade and reserve marinade. Place steaks on the grill over medium heat. Cover grill. Cook 10 to 15 minutes or until steaks are of desired doneness, turning once and brushing occasionally with marinade. Discard any remaining marinade. Note: To broil steaks, place on a broiler pan 4 to 6 inches from heat using times above as a guide, turning once and brushing with marinade.

The Perfect Margarita image

Mastering the margarita requires a certain amount of practice, but once you dial-in your perfect ratio, it's a really easy cocktail to replicate. The classic recipe is 3 parts tequila, 2 parts triple sec, and 1 part freshly squeezed lime juice, and you should probably start off pretty close to that, but my personal favorite proportions are 4-3-2.

1 lime wedge
1 pinch coarse sea salt to taste
1 large ice cube
ice
2 fluid ounces white tequila
1 ½ fluid ounces triple sec
1 fluid ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
1 slice lime

Steps:

  • Moisten the rim of a glass with a lime wedge. Sprinkle salt onto a plate. Lightly dip the moistened rim into the salt. Place a large ice cube in the glass and freeze the prepared glass until ready to serve.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with fresh ice. Add tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Cover and shake vigorously until outside of the shaker has frosted. Strain into the prepared glass and garnish with a slice of lime.

2 steaks, about 1 inch thick (You can use T-bone, rib-eyes, or even sirloin steaks if you like)

Steps:

  • In a glass baking dish combine all the ingredients except steaks, mix well.
  • Place steaks in mixture turning to coat both sides.
  • Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours to marinate, turning steaks over occasionally.
  • Fire-up the grill, when ready, remove steaks from marinade, reserving marinade.
  • Grill steaks to desired doneness, turning once and brushing occasionally with marinade.
