MAZAGRAN (LEMON ICED COFFEE)



Mazagran (Lemon Iced Coffee) image

A lovely summer refresher. It's up in the air whether this is Spanish or Portuguese in origin. Does it really matter?

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 tsp sugar, to taste
3/4 c cold espresso
1 tsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
crushed ice
1/2 c club soda or ice water
1 slice lemon
brandy, optional

Steps:

  • 1. Stir the sugar, espresso and lemon juice in a tall glass. When sugar has dissolved, add the crushed ice and soda water to taste. Garnish with the slice of lemon.
  • 2. If using, top with the brandy.
