Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Brown beef and onions in skillet; drain.
  • Mix in tomato sauce, garlic and oregano.
  • Place in a 2-quart casserole dish.
  • Top with corn.
  • Then spread mashed potatoes over the corn.
  • Lay cheese over the mashed potatoes in a single layer.
  • Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted.

2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pound ground beef
1 package (10 ounces) frozen corn
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of celery soup, undiluted
1/3 cup whole milk
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
Minced fresh parsley, optional

Steps:

  • Toss potatoes with butter and salt; arrange on the bottom and up the sides of a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 25-30 minutes or until potatoes are almost tender. , Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Sprinkle beef and corn over potatoes. Combine the soup, milk, garlic powder, pepper, onion and 1/2 cup cheese; pour over beef mixture. , Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender. 5 Potatoes (Peeled And Thinly Sliced)
1 Lb. Beef (Ground)
1 Can Cream Of Mushroom Soup
1 Onion (Chopped)
½ cup Beef Broth
1 tsp. Rosemary (Dried)
¼ cup Heavy Whipping Cream
½ tsp. Garlic Powder
Salt And Pepper To Taste
1 ½ cup Cheese (Shredded)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place the ground beef and onion into a skillet over medium high heat on the stove. Cook until the meat is browned and the onions are softened. Drain the excess grease.
  • Mix together the rosemary, garlic powder, soup, heavy whipping cream, broth and salt and pepper to taste in a mixing bowl.
  • Layer ½ of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of a well greased 9x13 baking dish.
  • Add ⅓ of the soup mixture on top, followed by ½ of the meat mixture.
  • Place another layer of potatoes, ⅓ of the soup mixture and the remaining meat.
  • Top with the rest of the soup mixture and then sprinkle with the cheese.
  • Cover in aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

3 pounds red potatoes, peeled and sliced 1/4-inch thick
Salt
Vegetable oil, to coat pan
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
Black pepper
2 cups milk
2 cups grated sharp Cheddar
1/2 cup unseasoned dry breadcrumbs

Steps:

  • Place the potatoes in a large saucepan with water to cover by 1 inch. Add a generous pinch of salt and cook for 15 minutes, or until tender. Potatoes cook quickly. Test often for tenderness and don't overcook them. Alternatively, cook the potatoes in a pressure cooker for 5 minutes, releasing the pressure immediately to prevent overcooking. Drain the potatoes and arrange them in a 6- by 9- by 2-inch casserole dish.
  • In a large skillet, add a little oil to coat the pan. Combine the beef and onion and cook together over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion softened, about 10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan and whisk in the flour to make a roux. Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until the mixture bubbles and the flour turns light brown in color. Gradually whisk in the milk and continue to stir while cooking over medium heat. When the mixture thickens, season with salt and pepper, then stir in the cheese and browned beef and onions.
  • Pour the ground beef mixture over the potatoes and bake the casserole for 20 minutes, until heated through and bubbling. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs on top of the casserole and bake until the crumbs are toasted, about 5 minutes longer.

1 bag (28 oz) frozen potatoes O'Brien with peppers and onions, thawed
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese (8 oz)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 12x8-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. In 10-inch skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked; drain. Stir in mixed vegetables, gravy and salt. Cook 3 to 4 minutes or until vegetables are thawed and mixture is thoroughly heated.
  • In baking dish, layer 3 cups of the potatoes and 1 cup of the cheese. Spoon ground beef mixture over cheese. Top with remaining potatoes. Cover with foil.
  • Bake 55 to 60 minutes or until bubbly. Remove foil. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup cheese. Bake uncovered 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with paprika before serving.

2 tablespoons shortening
2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 3/4 inch pieces
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 cup water
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
1 ¼ cups milk
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 ¼ cups whole wheat flake cereal, crumbled

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large skillet over high heat, melt the shortening and quickly brown the ground beef with the onion. Stir in water and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix the condensed cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • Pour meat mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange potatoes over the meat. Pour soup mixture over the potatoes. Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese. Top with whole wheat flake cereal.
  • Bake in preheated oven, uncovered, for 1 1/2 hours.

3 medium white potatoes (pared, and sliced very thin)
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup celery, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 teaspoon celery leaves (fresh or dried optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (spicy optional)
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
3/4 cup milk (add a little more if needed)
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
1 pinch paprika
grated cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Spray a baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Preheat oven 375 degrees.
  • Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and brown ground beef.
  • Drain ground beef, if necessary.
  • Add onions and celery to same skillet and cook until soft, adding rest of spice ingredients through pepper flakes. Stir well. But in a bowl and set to the side.
  • In same skillet, melt butter (or use 1 tablespoon of leftover grease from browning ground beef). Add flour to butter, stirring for one minute over medium-high heat.
  • Gradually add milk and cook till bubbly and thickened.
  • Add cheese, nutmeg, salt, pepper, and chili powder continue to stir until melted.
  • Spoon 1/4 cup of the ground beef mixture and spread evenly on bottom of a baking dish.
  • Add 1 layer of potatoes.
  • Alternate ground beef mixture, then potatoes until completely used.
  • Pour cheese sauce over ground beef and potato mixture.
  • Top with a pinch of paprika and grated cheese.
  • Bake for 1 hour, or until potatoes and beef are bubbly and done.

4 ounces button or cremini mushrooms, chopped (1 1/2 cups)

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 pound ground beef (90 percent lean)
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
10 ounces frozen classic mixed vegetables (2 cups)
3 ounces cheddar, grated (1 cup)
8 ounces frozen shredded potatoes or hash browns (2 1/2 cups)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. In a dry large skillet over medium-high heat, cook onion and mushrooms with 1 teaspoon salt, stirring occasionally, until mushrooms release their moisture, 6 to 8 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon oil and beef. Cook, stirring and breaking up meat, until no longer pink but not cooked through, about 3 minutes.
  • In a bowl, whisk together cornstarch, Worcestershire, and 2/3 cup water. Stir into skillet with frozen vegetables. Cook until vegetables are just thawed, about 1 minute. Season to taste; transfer to a shallow 2-quart baking dish. Top with cheese.
  • Toss potatoes with remaining 2 tablespoons oil; season generously with salt and sprinkle over beef mixture. Bake until bubbly, about 40 minutes. Switch oven to broiler; broil until potatoes are golden brown in spots, about 5 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes; serve.

2 1/2-3 lbs baking potatoes

1 dash paprika

Steps:

  • Stir together the cream cheese, garlic salt, pepper and sour cream.
  • Set aside.
  • Peel and cut potatoes into chunks and boil till soft.
  • Mash (or with electric mixer) the potaotes till they are in fine lumps.
  • Add the cream cheese mixture and beat till fluffy and smooth.
  • Spoon into well buttered 2-quart casserole.
  • Dot with paprika.
  • Bake covered in a 400 degree oven for 25 minutes (if made the day before and refrigerated, cook for 50 minutes).
