Enjoy the soothing qualities of mint enhanced with your favorite melon flavor. With its cooling effect on the body, mint can refresh your senses while offering a unique alternative to citrus-type drinks.

Fresh juice from one large lemon
400 grams of your favorite melon (such as seedless watermelon or honeydew)
25 fresh mint leaves
3 spearmint springs
1.0 liter sparkling water
30 mL SodaStream Simple Syrup
Optional: 240 milliliters (mL) vodka

Steps:

  • Prepare the sparkling water by fizzing 1.0 liter of sparkling water in your SodaStream.
  • Slice melon into desired shape and size. (Consider using a vegetable cutter to achieve unique and attractive shapes.)
  • Combine sparkling water, lemon juice, simple syrup, and melon (as well as vodka if desired).
  • Add mint leaves and springs. Stir thoroughly.
  • Serve over ice and enjoy.

3 Tablespoons honey
1 Tablespoon mint (chopped)

Steps:

  • Using a melon baller scoop round spheres out of each of the melons and place them into a medium-sized bowl.

2 x 5cm wedges of watermelon
40g feta , crumbled
handful chopped mint
2 wedges of lime

Steps:

  • Take each wedge of melon and slice between the rind and flesh to separate them, then cut downwards to make bite-size chunks. Flick out the seeds, scatter over the feta and mint, and squeeze over the lime before serving.

A fruity, minty, refreshing punch for a summer party. The mix of juicy honeydew, cantaloupe and watermelon chunks make this the ultimate cooler to beat the heat

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 large cucumber , peeled and chopped into small chunks
small bunch mint , leaves picked
500ml vodka
juice 6 lime , plus wedges to serve
200g white caster sugar
1-2 small melons (we used 1/2 honeydew, 1/2 cantaloupe and 1/2 watermelon)
1l sparkling water , chilled

Steps:

  • Put the cucumber and half the mint in a large bowl or jug, and pour over the vodka. Cover and leave to steep for at least 24 hrs or for up to 1 week in the fridge, stirring every few days. Strain through a fine sieve.
  • Pour the vodka, lime juice and sugar into a larger jug. Stir well.
  • Using a melon baller, scoop out as many melon balls as you can. Add them to the jug and leave to steep for 30 mins-1 hr in the fridge. Top up with sparkling water and add the remaining mint leaves just before serving with extra lime wedges.

  • Add the cantaloupe and water in a high speed blender and blend together until smooth. Avoid filling your blender more than two-thirds of the way full. Work in batches if needed.
  • (Optional) Strain the cantaloupe juice to get a smooth consistency and remove the pulp. A medium sieve is best for this.
  • Pour the cantaloupe agua fresca in a large pitcher and add the lime juice and sweetener. If using herbs, muddle them before adding them in. Serve chilled or over ice. Makes 8 cups.

  • Begin by making the simple syrup. Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a low simmer and stir, making sure that all sugar is dissolved. It should only take a couple of minutes of simmering. The liquid will thicken slightly and should remain clear. Remove from heat and let cool. (Remember: You are only using a portion of this syrup. Refrigerate the remainder for a few days if you’d like, for use in another recipe. It’s great for sweetening tea or water.)
  • Next, using a melon baller, scoop about 3 1/2 cups of watermelon and 3 1/2 cups cantaloupe into a large mixing bowl and set aside. If you don’t have a melon baller you can always cut up the melon into about 1-1 1/2? squares.
  • Once the simple syrup has cooled, blend 1/4 cup of the simple syrup, mint, lemon juice and amaretto in a blender until mint is finely chopped.
