MICROWAVE DILL TATER SNACKS
Prepared in the microwave, flavorful, filled potato cups can be ready in 20 minutes.

Steps:
- Cook bacon in microwave as directed on package. Cool slightly. Crumble; set aside.
- Place potatoes, cut side down, in 12x8-inch (2-quart) ungreased microwavable dish. Add 2 tablespoons water. Cover tightly with microwavable plastic wrap.
- Microwave on High 9 to 12 minutes or until tender, rotating dish 1/4 turn halfway through cooking. Let stand 3 minutes. Drain; cool slightly.
- In small bowl, mix sour cream, green onions and 1 teaspoon dill weed. Turn potatoes over. If necessary, trim thin slice off rounded bottom of each potato half to make potatoes stand upright. Top each with dollop of sour cream mixture; sprinkle with bacon. Sprinkle each with pepper and Parmesan cheese. Garnish with fresh dill weed or parsley.

- Place pasta, oil & chicken stock into a 1 litre microwvae sage bowl or jug.
- Pour over boiling water and stir well, do not cover.
- Microwave on high for 3 mins, stirring halfway through cooking time.
- Drain & stir in butter & cheeses, season with pepper.
- Sprinkle with some extra parmesan to serve.

- In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine butter, chili powder, cumin and garlic powder. Cover and microwave on high for 30-45 seconds or until butter is melted. In a 3-qt. microwave-safe dish, combine crackers, pretzels and peanuts. Add butter mixture and mix lightly. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese; toss to coat. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 4-5 minutes or until mixture begins to toast, carefully stirring every 2 minutes. Cool. Store in an airtight container.

- Crumble sausage into casserole. Add scallions. Nuke on HIGH 3-4 minutes. Pour off fat. Stir in chicken, sauteed mushrooms, crumbs, wine, parsley, and celery salt. Mix well. Stuff 16 shells and place four in each gratin dish.
- Cover with plastic wrap. Nuke on HIGH for 7-8 minutes, turning once. Spoon sauce over pasta before serving. Sprinkle with parmesan, parsley and paprika.

COOKING PASTA IN THE MICROWAVE
This method is useful for cooking for a single serving or two of pasta. Ideally, use a 1 1/2-quart ceramic pot. According to "Microwave Cooking for One" by Marie T. Smith, the shape and arrangement of the food in the microwave makes a difference in its cooking. This recipe is from the previously mentioned book.

Steps:
- Pour 1 cup of water into a microwaveable pot for short pasta like elbow and ziti. Pour 2 cups of water for long pasta like linguine and spaghetti.
- Cook in the microwave at full power until water boils (2:30 minutes for 1 cup and 5 minutes for 2).
- Add all the other ingredients except pasta. Stir.
- If adding short pasta, cook for 12 minutes at 350 watts (50% power if your microwave is 700 watt), until water is absorbed. Serve however you like it.
- If adding long pasta, the ends will stick out of the pot. Cook for 1 minute at full power. The pasta in the water will have softened, and you can then push the ends into the pot.
- Cook another minute at full power, then stir, making sure all the pasta is covered by water.
- Cook 6 to 8 minutes, depending on how wide the pasta is, at 350 watts until the pasta is done.
- Drain the water away and serve however you like it.
- To increase the recipe, add 1 cup water for each additional 2 oz of pasta. Cook the water until it boils, then follow the recipe above exactly, because all the other cooking times remain the same.

- 1.- In microwave dish, place the water, the pasta and 2 chicken consomme cubes, crumbled. Cover with microwave resistant plastic film and poke a few slits on it.
- 2.- Cook on High setting for 10 to 11 minutes until pasta is al dente.
- 3.- Remove from microwave oven and frain excess liquid.
- 4.- In blender process the cream cheese with the cream, the chipotle, and the remaining chicken consomme cube.
- 5.- Mix with the cooked pasta and cook in microwave for 1 more minute. Serve warm.
