Pie for dinner! Easier than cooking cheeseburgers and pretty enough for company.

1 (9 inch) pie shell
1 pound lean ground beef
¼ cup chopped onion
¼ cup chopped green bell pepper
½ cup tomato sauce
½ cup dried bread crumbs, seasoned
½ teaspoon seasoning salt
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 egg, beaten
¼ cup milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ teaspoon ground white pepper
½ cup tomato sauce
½ cup cocktail sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Crumble ground beef into a large skillet. Saute over medium heat 1 minute, then add onion and green pepper. Continue to saute until onion begins to brown, about 5 minutes. Mix in 1/2 cup tomato sauce, bread crumbs, and seasoning salt. Spoon mixture into pastry shell.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together cheese, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and white pepper. Spread mixture over meat filling. Cover edges of crust with strips of aluminum foil.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes, until topping is puffy and lightly browned. Allow to set 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Make garnish sauce by mixing together 1/2 cup tomato sauce and cocktail sauce. Garnish each slice of pie with a spoonful of sauce.

12 mini kosher dill pickles
1 medium tomato, chopped
Ketchup and mustard

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 12 regular-size muffin cups with cooking spray.
  • In 10-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until thoroughly cooked; drain. Cool 5 minutes; stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt and cheese.
  • In medium bowl, stir baking mixture ingredients with whisk or fork until blended. Spoon 1 scant tablespoon baking mixture into each muffin cup. Top with about 1/4 cup burger mixture. Spoon 1 tablespoon baking mixture onto burger mixture in each muffin cup.
  • Bake about 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, and muffin tops are golden brown. Cool 5 minutes. With thin knife, loosen sides of muffins from pan; remove from pan and place top side up on cooling rack. Cool 10 minutes longer, and serve with garnishes.

2 tbsp (30 mL) butter
1/3 cup (75 mL) milk
1 egg
12 oz (350 g) 95% lean ground beef or 93% lean ground turkey
2 green onions
3 oz (90 g) sharp cheddar cheese (3/4 cup/175 mL grated), divided
1/2 cup (125 mL) ketchup
1 tbsp (15 mL) yellow mustard
1-2 large firm plum tomatoes
1-2 whole dill pickles
3 cups (750 mL) shredded romaine lettuce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray wells of Brownie Pan with nonstick cooking spray. Measure baking mix using dry measuring side of Mini Measure-All Cup®; add to Manual Food Processor. Microwave butter in 1-cup (250-mL) Prep Bowl, uncovered, on HIGH 20-30 seconds or until melted. Add melted butter, milk and egg to processor bowl; process until well blended. Carefully remove blade from processor bowl. Using a scant Medium Scoop, divide batter evenly into wells. (Batter will be thick and not cover surface of the wells.) Place beef in Classic Batter Bowl. Microwave, uncovered on HIGH 4-5 minutes or until no longer pink, breaking into crumbles with Small Mix 'N Scraper® halfway through cooking. Drain, if necessary. Thinly slice green onions. Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the beef, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Form mixture into 8 equal-size patties.
  • In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Brown the patties in oil about 1 minute per side.
  • On a lightly floured surface, until the pastry. Cut the pastry lengthwise into four equal strips, then cut strips in half crosswise.
