2 1/2 cups chicken broth (Swanson Regular, Natural Goodness or Certified Organic)
1 dash ground black pepper, generous dash
2 stalks celery, coarsely chopped
1 large onion, coarsely chopped
1 (16 ounce) package herb seasoned stuffing mix, Pepperidge Farm brand recommended

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Heat the broth, black pepper, celery and onion in a 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover and cook 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Add stuffing and mix lightly.
  • Spoon the stuffing mixture into a greased 3-quart casserole dish.
  • Cover and bake 30 minutes or until hot.

2 1/2 cups chicken broth (Swanson Regular, Natural Goodness or Certified Organic)
1 dash ground black pepper, generous dash
2 stalks celery, coarsely chopped
1 large onion, coarsely chopped
1 (16 ounce) package herb seasoned stuffing mix, Pepperidge Farm brand recommended
1/2 cup egg substitute
4 tablespoons fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme and sage)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • Heat broth, pepper, celery and onion in saucepan over medium-high heat to a boil; decrease heat to low. Cover. Cook 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Don't overcook.
  • Put stuffing mix in bowl. Pour cooked mixture over it and mix. Put egg substitute and herbs in with it; mix again.
  • Spray 3-quart casserole with nonstick spray. Spoon stuffing into it. Cover and bake 30 minutes.

Steps:

  • 1. Heat the broth, black pepper, celery and onion in a 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender, stirring often. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the stuffing and mix lightly.
  • 2. Spoon the stuffing mixture into a greased 3-quart shallow baking dish. Cover the baking dish.
  • 3. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until the stuffing mixture is hot.

This is a recipe that I have used for years, but with my own little tweaks added to it. Loved by all every time we make it. We usually double this recipe.

1 cup butter
¾ cup chopped onion
1 ½ cups chopped celery with leaves
9 cups soft bread cubes
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon dried sage leaves
1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning, or to taste
½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until; saute onion and celery in hot butter until onion is soft, 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Put bread cubes in a large bowl. Season bread with salt, sage, thyme, poultry seasoning, and black pepper. Add onion mixture to bread cubes; stir. Pour bread mixture into a large casserole dish and cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden and hot, about 1 hour.

1 (1 pound) loaf sliced white bread
¾ cup butter or margarine
1 onion, chopped
4 stalks celery, chopped
2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup chicken broth

Steps:

  • Let bread slices air dry for 1 to 2 hours, then cut into cubes.
  • In a Dutch oven, melt butter or margarine over medium heat. Cook onion and celery until soft. Season with poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir in bread cubes until evenly coated. Moisten with chicken broth; mix well.
  • Chill, and use as a stuffing for turkey, or bake in a buttered casserole dish at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 to 40 minutes.

2 loaves whole wheat bread, cut into small cubes
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 pound mild Italian sausage
4 medium onions, diced
3 stalks celery, diced
½ cup butter, or more to taste
5 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons rubbed dried sage leaves
1 ½ teaspoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried summer savory
¾ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon dried marjoram
¼ teaspoon dried thyme leaves
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup chicken broth, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Place bread cubes in a large bowl.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir sausage in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Add onions, celery, 1/2 cup butter, and garlic. Saute until onions appear translucent, about 5 minutes.
  • Add sage, parsley, savory, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, marjoram, thyme, and nutmeg; mix well. Stir in 1 cup broth.
  • Slowly pour broth and sausage mixture over bread cubes, stirring continuously as you pour. Add additional broth and butter as desired.
  • Stuffing is ready to bake in the oven or stuff in the bird.
