- In a large bowl, combine the first 9 ingredients. Shape into four 3/4-in.-thick patties., In a large cast-iron or other heavy skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add burgers; cook until crisp and lightly browned, 3-4 minutes on each side. Serve on buns with lettuce and if desired, tomato and mayonnaise.

MOZZARELLA-STUFFED MUSHROOM PIZZA BURGERS

Steps:
- In large bowl, mix beef, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Shape mixture into 8 patties, 4 1/2 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick. Press 1/4 cup of the cheese into a ball with hands; press flat into 3 1/2-inch-diameter patty. Repeat with remaining cheese. Place cheese patties on top of 4 beef patties; top with remaining beef patties. Pinch edges together to seal.
- In 10-inch skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms; cook 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Remove from heat.
- Heat gas or charcoal grill. Place patties on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 11 to 13 minutes, turning once, until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F. During last 2 minutes of cooking, place buns, cut sides down, on grill until toasted.
- Place burgers on bottom halves of buns. Top with pizza sauce and mushroom mixture. Cover with top halves of buns.

MUSHROOM PIZZA BURGERS

Steps:
- In a small skillet coated with cooking spray, saute mushrooms and onion for 3 minutes. Add garlic and oregano; saute 1-2 minutes longer or until onion is tender. Stir in tomatoes. Cook, uncovered, over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside and keep warm.
- In a large bowl, combine mushrooms, basil, egg white, parmesan, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Crumble beef over mixture; mix well. Shape into 6 patties.
- Coat grill rack with cooking spray before starting the grill. Grill patties, covered, over medium-hot heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until meat juices run clear. Top patties with cheese and the tomato sauce. Serve over buns.

- In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink, 3-5 minutes, breaking into crumbles. Drain. Stir in the pizza sauce, mushrooms, sugar and oregano; mix well. Spoon onto buns; sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. , Place on ungreased baking sheets. Broil 4 in. from the heat until cheese is melted, 2 minutes. , To freeze for quick lunches later, place the split and toasted buns on a baking sheet. Spoon the meat mixture onto buns; freeze for 1 hour. Transfer to freezer-safe airtight containers., To use frozen burgers: Thaw completely in the refrigerator. Sprinkle with cheese. Broil 4 in. from the heat until heated through and cheese is melted, 2 minutes.
