This is a favorite recipe I found at topsecretrecipes.com. I love these drinks when I go to the mall, so I was thrilled I could make it at home. Enjoy!

ORANGE JULIUS ROLL-UPS (DEHYDRATOR) (RAW FOODS)
Adapted from a recipe on the Nesco Dehydrators website. This is a basic recipe and I'm not sure yet how many batches of it are needed to fill up a roll-up dehydrator sheet. Two batches didn't fill it up and my "roll-ups" came out lacy. But still good and gobble-worthy. The website says the sheets will hold 3 cups worth.

SUPER CREAMY ORANGE JULIUS
My mom introduced this recipe to my sister and I years ago. I have never found another orange julius that tastes better. It's very creamy and frothy!! I love to mix in different fruit (fresh or juice). Recipe is from Cheapskate Gourmet.

LUSCIOUS LEMON COOKIES (RAW FOODS)
From Raw Food Celebrations - Party Menus for Every Occasion by Nomi Shannon and Sheryl Duruz. It's due back to the library tomorrow and this looks good! The book says these cookies were meant to be dehydrated but taste good fresh too. "If you are not dehydrating the cookies, use dried coconut."

LIVE GARDEN BURGER (RAW FOODS)
From Sergei and Valya Boutenko's Eating Without Heating: Favorite Recipes from Teens Who Love Raw Food. They say about it: "You can make nori rolls, cabbage wraps, spread it on crackers, stuff mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and more." I have adapted it to fit in my little Oscar food processor.

ALISSA COHEN'S BROCCOLI SOUP (RAW FOODS)
I found this posted on rawfoodtalk.com. "The cumin and sea salt are very important in this recipe, so make sure you have added enough of both of these to bring out the flavor of this soup." The original recipe called for almonds instead of cashews. This was so good I had two bowls!

PASSION STRAWBERRY FRUIT LEATHER - DEHYDRATOR ROLL-UPS
Once you know how to plug your dehydrator in, you're limited only by your imagination regarding how many different "recipes" you can come up with for fruit leather. These simple snacks are healthy and often more convenient to eat than fresh fruit. I ziplock a batch and take it with me. Either pureed apples or applesauce makes a great inexpensive texturizer with a rather mild flavor, so I often flesh out whatever the main fruit flavor is with it. This time it's strawberries! (My friend Freya arrived on my doorstep last weekend with a HUUUUGE box of the most beautiful berries I've ever seen, so rather than to lose the last of them to age, I've gone the dehydrating route.)

Steps:
- Purée chopped strawberries with the applesauce and passionfruit syrup.
- Spray the fruit leather sheet of your dehydrator (the one without holes) with a light coating of non-stick cooking spray.
- Pour the puréed fruit carefully into the tray set into the bottom section of your dehydrator. Dehydrate at full power for up to 8 hours, depending on the power of your machine, checking periodically toward the end of that time to see that there aren't any wet or sticky spots.
- When done, cool for a couple of minutes and carefully slide a butter knife or thin spatula under the leather.
- Cut into 2-4 pieces and roll into cylinders. Store in zip lock baggies.

- Add different amounts of water to your powder mixture to make:.
- Tomato Paste - 1 teaspoon powder and 1 teaspoon water.

PORTABELLA PIZZA (RAW FOODS)
This recipe is slightly modified from a free "magazine" I picked up at Whole Foods called "Extraordinary Health" (it actually ended up being mostly ads for expensive supplements, but there were some good recipes). This recipe was one of my favorite things I tried on my five-day raw foods experiment. I will probably make it again when I'm not making an effort to eat raw.

Steps:
- Clean and stem the mushrooms and turn them upside down. Pour the juice of one lemon over them.
- Make tahini dressing by mixing the tahini, juice of 1/2 lemon, garlic, cayenne, and Braggs. Add warm water as needed to make a creamy consistency. Spread over the mushrooms.
- Top with tomato slices and fresh basil leaves (if desired). I like to cut each mushroom into four "pizza slices.".
