The classic combination of peaches and cream is as simple as it sounds: peaches, lightly sweetened and simmered, need only a splash of cold heavy cream and nothing more. Just remember to make this ahead of time for the peachiest results.

Ingredients

4 fresh peaches, or as needed
⅓ cup white sugar, or to taste
¼ cup water
1 ½ cups heavy cream

Steps:

Cut each peach in half along the crease, twist open, and remove the pit. Peel and slice. Cut slices in half to get roughly 2 cups of sliced peaches.
Bring sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Boil until a syrup forms, about 3 minutes. Stir in peaches until coated. Bring syrup back to a light simmer, about 1 minute. Immediately remove from heat and pour mixture into a bowl.
Transfer peaches into a large bowl using a slotted spoon. Pour in heavy cream and stir to combine. Divide mixture between serving glasses, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until completely chilled and cream has absorbed all the peach flavor, at least 3 hours.

2 cups fresh or frozen sliced peaches
3/4 cup sugar, divided
1/4 cup egg substitute
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1 tablespoon fat-free milk
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt

Steps:

In a large saucepan, combine peaches and 1/4 cup sugar; let stand for 5 minutes. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cook and stir for 1 minute or until the sugar is dissolved. Set aside. , In a large bowl, beat the egg substitute, butter and remaining sugar until fluffy. Stir in milk. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to egg mixture just until combined. , Pour into an 8-in. square baking pan coated with cooking spray. Top with peach mixture. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm or cold.

12 ounces peaches in heavy syrup (large can)
18 ounces butter recipe cake mix
1 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Steps:

Pour peaches in 9 x 11 baking dish
Add pecans and sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over peaches
Melt butter and pour over top of cake mix.
Bake on 350 for about 40 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an added treat.
