CHICKEN AND SAUSAGE PENNE

Steps:
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; drain.
- Meanwhile, place chicken and 1/2 of the Cajun seasoning in a bowl, and toss to coat. Place sausage and the rest of the cajun seasoning in a seperate bowl and toss to coat. Fry sausage in a sepate frying pan until no longer pink. Slice and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, saute chicken in butter until no longer pink and juices run clear, about 5 to 7 minutes. Add cooked sausage. Add green and red bell peppers, sliced mushrooms and green onions; cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Reduce heat, and stir in heavy cream. Season the sauce with basil, lemon pepper, salt, garlic powder and ground black pepper, and heat through.
- In a large bowl, toss penne with sauce. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

- Cook pasta in a large saucepan according to package directions, adding the vegetables during the last 6 minutes of cooking., Meanwhile, in a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray, brown sausage; remove from skillet and keep warm. , In a small bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, mustard and pepper flakes; gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Add milk mixture to the skillet, stirring to loosen browned bits from pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened., Drain pasta and vegetables; stir into the pan. Add cheese and reserved sausage; cook and stir until cheese is melted.

Meanwhile, in a Dutch oven, cook the chicken, sausage, onion and red and green peppers in oil over medium heat for 6-8 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink. Add garlic; cook and stir 1 minute longer., Stir in the Alfredo sauce, soup, pepper and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 2 minutes. Stir in cheese. Drain pasta; add to chicken mixture and toss to coat., Serve desired amount immediately. Cool remaining mixture; transfer to freezer containers.
