BLACK CHERRY LAYERED PRETZEL DESSERT

1 1/2 cups cola-flavored carbonated beverage (12 oz. can)
1 1/4 cups crushed pretzels
2 tbsps. sugar
6 tbsps. butter, melted
2 (3 oz.) pkgs. black cherry flavored gelatin
1 (11.75 oz.) jar Smucker's® Black Cherry Flavored Topping
2 1/4 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided

Steps:

  • HEAT oven to 375 degrees F. Pour cola in microwave-safe measuring cup or bowl. Let stand, stirring occasionally, while preparing crust. Combine crushed pretzels, sugar and butter until moistened. Press evenly in 8x8-inch baking pan. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly toasted. Cool completely.
  • MICROWAVE cola on HIGH 2 minutes or until boiling. Pour over gelatin in medium bowl. Stir gently 2 to 3 minutes until gelatin is dissolved and foam disappears. Stir in black cherry topping. Chill 10 to 15 minutes or until just slightly thickened.
  • MEASURE 1 1/4 cups whipped topping in small bowl. Add 1/2 cup gelatin mixture, stirring until evenly blended. Spread over cooled pretzel crust. Chill 10 minutes. Spoon remaining gelatin mixture over whipped topping layer. Chill 1 hour or until firm. Top with remaining 1 cup whipped topping.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix pretzels, melted butter, and sugar together in a bowl; press into the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking dish.
  • Bake crust in preheated oven until lightly browned, about 10 minutes. Remove to cool completely.

1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
2 cups whipped dream whipped topping (1 envelope)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (28 ounce) can cherry pie filling

Steps:

  • Prepare a 9 x 9" baking pan.
  • In a bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter and 1 tbsp sugar; spread on bottom of prepared baking pan to form a crust.
  • Mix the Dream Whip topping according to directions on the package, then beat in the softened cream cheese into the Dream Whip a little at a time.
  • Add the remaining sugar and vanilla until well blended.
  • Smooth on top of the crust.
  • Top with the cherry pie filling.
  • Chill at least 3 hours (overnight is even better) if storing in the fridge overnight, cover with plastic wrap.

1 (12-oz.) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
1/2 cup water
1 (3.4-oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding and pie filling mix
1 (4-oz.) container (1 1/2 cups) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (21-oz.) can strawberry pie filling

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, combine all crust ingredients; mix well. Press in bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch pan. Bake at 350°F. for 8 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in same large bowl, combine condensed milk and water; blend well. Add pudding mix; beat 2 minutes with electric mixer at medium speed. Refrigerate 5 minutes.
  • Fold whipped topping into thickened pudding mixture. Spread over cooled baked crust. Refrigerate about 1 hour or until filling is firm.
  • Spoon strawberry pie filling over filling. Cover; refrigerate at least 1 hour or until serving time. If desired, garnish individual servings with tree-shaped pretzels. Store in refrigerator.

3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup solid margarine, melted
2 envelopes whipped dessert topping mix
1 cup cold milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine pretzels, sugar and margarine.
  • Set aside 1/2 cup for the topping.
  • Press the remaining mixture into an ungreased 13x9 pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat whipped topping mix, milk, and vanilla at high speed for about 4 minutes or until soft peaks form.
  • Add cream cheese and confectioners sugar and beat until smooth.
  • Spread half of the mixture over the crust.
  • Top with cherry pie filling and the remaining cream cheese mixture.
  • Sprinkle with the reserved pretzel mixture.
