Enjoy this rum-infused tropical cocktail. The yellow bird recipe is easy, a nice fruity drink to enjoy on the beach, and there are a few ways to make one.

1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice, from 1/2 lime
1 1/4 ounces orange juice
1 ounce light rum
1 ounce dark rum​
1/4 ounce Galliano L'Autentico liqueur
1 maraschino cherry , for garnish
1 sprig of mint, for garnish

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Squeeze the juice of half a lime into a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add the orange juice, both rums, and Galliano.
  • Shake well .
  • Strain into a collins glass filled with crushed ice.
  • Garnish with a cherry and a sprig of mint, if you like.

I visited the Bacardi distillery in Puerto Rico and it was a really neat tour. They had so many different kinds of rum, that my hubby looked like he was in heaven! This is a refreshing tropical drink that uses Bacardi light rum. This recipe is from Carnival Cruise Line, which is who we took our Caribbean cruise with. Enjoy!

1/4 ounce Galliano
1/4 ounce creme de banane
2 ounces orange juice
1 ounce pineapple juice

Steps:

  • Blend all ingredients together, pour over ice and garnish with an orange slice and a cherry.

  • Add all ingredients into your cocktail shaker with plenty of ice and shake until the drink is well-chilled.
  • Now, double strain into a chilled glass.
  • Optionally garnish with bird-shaped banana or pineapple wedge & cherry.
