PURPLE PASSION COCKTAIL

The 80s classic Purple Passion is back with vodka and all the grape goodness from the past.

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 oz vodka
4 oz Concord grape juice
4 oz grape Kool-Aid (mixed, ready-to-drink)
1/2 oz grapefruit juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
ice cubes

Steps:

  • Mix the Kool-Aid as directed on the packet. I used single-serving packets that do not need added sugar. Simply mix it in a bottle of water and you are ready.
  • To a martini shaker add about 8 ice cubes and all the ingredients.
  • Close martini shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  • Prepare two high ball or collins glasses by filling 3/4 of the way with ice.
  • Remove the top and pour through the strainer into each glass over the ice.
  • Add a straw and enjoy. CHEERS!

I found this recipe in a book called "Great American Favorite Brand Name Cookbook" and I have not tried it yet, but I'm trying to get some stuff up here before I have to return the book. So if anyone tries it and has any comments, let me know. Hope you enjoy!

1 (6 ounce) can frozen grape juice concentrate, thawed
3 (6 ounce) juice cans cold water
1 (6 ounce) juice can vodka
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar
ice cube
purple grapes (optional)
mint leaf (optional)

Steps:

  • In pitcher, combine all ingredients except ice, grapes and mint; stir until sugar dissolves. Cover; chill.
  • Serve over ice; garnish with grapes and mint if desired.

1 large container Welch's Grape Juice (It has to be Welch's or you are not going to get a good purple.)
1 large container pineapple juice
1 (2-liter) Sprite (We used Sprite Zero.)

Steps:

  • Mix all of the ingredients together in a large bowl and serve cold. Tip: Freeze a portion of the mixture in a few ice trays to keep the punch cold and prevent it from getting watered down with regular ice cubes.
