This is a great little skillet meal for that need a meal quick night. I paired it with an asian salad with sesame dressing. Everyone loved it and the plates were cleaned. You can add a tablespoon or two of chili garlic sauce if you want it more spicy. Without it it fed my family who are picky eaters and a visiting relative. WW people it is 9 points. 1 cup long grain white rice
1 lb ground beef (round, chuck or beef)
3/4 cup soy vay veri veri teriyaki sauce (I used B.E.S)
1/3 cup ketchup
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 cup sliced green onion

Steps:

  • Cook rice according to package directions without butter or salt. While rice is cooking, brown beef in a large skillet, breaking it up with the back of a wooden spoon. Drain excess fat, then stir in teriyaki sauce, ketchup, ginger and hot cooked rice. Sprinkle with green onions.

1 cup lundberg wild rice
2 cups water
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 tablespoon butter
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup carrot, shredded
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 garlic clove, pressed
1 cup sliced mushrooms
3 tablespoons kikkoman teriyaki sauce

Steps:

  • Rinse rice.
  • Place in a pot with a tight fitting lid, along with 2 cups water, 2 bouillon cubes, and butter.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes. DO NOT REMOVE LID.
  • Remove from heat and let sit covered for 10 minutes.
  • Fluff with a fork.
  • While rice is cooking, sauté onion, celery and carrots in butter and olive oil over medium heat until tender.
  • Add garlic and mushrooms and cook just until mushrooms are tender.
  • Add teriyaki and simmer until liquid is absorbed.
  • Stir vegetables into rice and serve.

Sliced green onions

Steps:

  • Stir together beef, tomatoes, kidney beans, seasoning mix, water and teriyaki sauce in a 5-qt. slow cooker until well blended. Cover and cook 8 hours on LOW or 4 hours on HIGH.
  • About 10 minutes before serving, break up any large pieces of tomato with a wooden spoon, and stir in green beans; cover to heat through.
  • Meanwhile, prepare rice according to package directions. Serve beef over rice in bowls, with toppings, as desired.
