RED WINE GOULASH RECIPE
Red Wine Goulash is so comforting on a rainy or dreary day. Perfect with a glass of red wine.

- Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, season the meat with steak seasoning and sprinkle the flour over it. Mix it so that the meat is lightly dusted with flour. Heat the olive oil in a large French oven on medium heat. Brown the meat for a few minutes while stirring well then reserve on a bowl or plate. Add the onions, carrots, celery and garlic to the pot. Cook for about 5 minutes or until vegetables start to wilt. Add tomatoes, rosemary, parsley, paprika and red wine. Turn the heat up to high and add the browned meat to the French oven. Bring liquid to a boil and cover with a lid. Place in oven and cook for about 90 minutes or until meat is fork tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve over noodles, rice or mashed potatoes.

HUNGARIAN GOULASH WITH RED WINE

Steps:
- fry bacon pieces in a deep pan for some minutes until the fat comes out.
- brown beef in bacon fat with the bacon, stirring.
- add onion and garlic cloves and brown, stirring.
- add pepper pieces and paprika and stir.
- add all other ingredients and cook covered on low heat for 1 1/2-2 hours or until tender Add more water if needed or if it is too thin take the cover off and evaporate the surplus water.
- Take out bay leaf and add sour cream if you prefer it.
- Serve with buttered noodles or with some bread dumplings.
STEWING BEEF BRAISED IN RED WINE ( GOULASH WITH RED WINE )
This recipe is EASY to prepare and the taste is amazing. Great for your family and friends. It can be frozen and eaten later. We like it with potatoes or pasta. For us it is a goulash. Just add a salad or your favorite vegetable and dinner is ready.

Steps:
- In large pot heat the oil. When hot add the beef, onions, garlic and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the peppercorns, bay leaves, salt, beef bouillon, the wine and water.
- Bring to a boil, lower the heat, cover and let it simmer for about 2 1/2 hours, stirring once a while.
- Make sure there is enough liquid in the pot to almost cover the meat.
- When finished the beef should be tender and nicely flavored ( thanks to the wine ).
- Take out the peppercorn and bay leaves.
- Spoon over pasta or potatoes.
- Enjoy.

BEEF GOULASH
Make this hearty beef goulash to feed the family on chilly nights. Stir in the soured cream and parsley for an indulgent, crowd-pleasing supper

Steps:
- Heat oven to 160C/140C fan/gas 3.
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a flameproof casserole dish or heavy-based saucepan. Sprinkle 700g stewing steak chunks with 30g plain flour and brown well in three batches, adding an extra 1 tbsp oil for each batch. Set the browned meat aside.
- Add in the remaining 1 tbsp oil to the casserole dish, followed by 1 large thinly sliced onion, 2 finely chopped garlic cloves, 1 green pepper and 1 red pepper, both finely sliced. Fry until softened, around 5-10 mins.
- Return the beef to the pan with 2 tbsp tomato purée and 2 tbsp paprika. Cook, stirring, for 2 mins.
- Add in 2 large diced tomatoes, 75ml dry white wine and 300ml beef stock. Cover and bake in the oven for 1 hr 30 mins - 2 hrs. Alternatively, cover and cook it on the hob on a gentle heat for about an hour, removing the lid after 45 mins.
- Sprinkle over 2 tbsp flat-leaf parsley leaves and season well with salt and freshly ground pepper. Stir in 150ml soured cream and serve.
