Since its debut in London in the late '80s, the Espresso Martini has become a modern classic and the quintessential coffee cocktail. Typically made with vodka, fresh-brewed espresso, coffee liqueur, and a touch of sugar, it's the ideal brunch time wake-up or after-dinner caffeine jolt to enjoy alongside dessert. If you want a more elevated take on this espresso beverage, try making it with Rémy Martin 1738 Cognac in place of vodka. This specific Cognac is incredibly versatile for cocktail making, but with notes of hazelnut and dark chocolate it pairs exceptionally well with coffee. Rémy Martin 1738 is a blend of both young and old eaux-de-vie (distilled wine that is aged in oak barrels), which allows this Cognac to bring a lot of depth and complexity to cocktails, while maintaining an approachable flavor profile.
