Salmon Cream Cheese Bagels image

Salmon cream cheese bagels are the perfect grab-and-go breakfast, or try them as part of a laid back weekend brunch.

12 ounces plain whipped cream cheese
3/4 cup chopped cooked salmon, or canned salmon (, drained well)
2 tablespoons minced fresh dill
2 tablespoons capers (, minced)
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
12 mini bagels
tomato slices
sliced red onion
capers
everything bagel seasoning
fresh dill

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, salmon, dill, capers, garlic powder and kosher salt until well blended.
  • If desired, toast the bagels or serve untoasted. Spread with salmon cream cheese, and dress with your favorite toppings like tomato, red onion, capers, everything bagel seasoning and dill.

Smoked Salmon and Herb Cream Cheese Bagels image

8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
1 tablespoon minced scallions, white and green parts
1 tablespoon minced fresh dill
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
1 tablespoon milk
Pinch of kosher salt
2 bagels
3 slices smoked salmon

Steps:

  • Place the cream cheese, scallions, dill, parsley, milk, and salt in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment and mix on low speed until blended.
  • Slice each bagel into 3 rounds lengthwise to make 6 pieces. Spread cream cheese on top of 3 of the rounds and a slice of smoked salmon top of the cream cheese. Place the 3 remaining rounds on top of the smoked salmon and serve.

2 sesame bagels
Vegetable Cream Cheese, recipe follows
4 slices smoked salmon
16 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
2 tablespoons minced scallions, white and green parts
2 tablespoons finely chopped carrot
2 tablespoons finely chopped celery
2 tablespoons finely chopped radish (2 radishes)
2 to 3 pinches kosher salt
1 pinch finely ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Slice the bagels in half horizontally and spread 1 tablespoon of the vegetable cream cheese over the bottom half of each bagel. Arrange 2 slices of smoked salmon over the cream cheese and place the remaining bagel halves on top. Cut the bagels in half crosswise and serve.
  • Vegetable Cream Cheese:
  • Place the cream cheese, scallions, carrot, celery, radish, salt, and pepper in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment and mix on low speed until blended.
  • Yield: 6 servings
