This hot taco dip is perfect with tortilla chips and is always a crowd pleaser.

cooking spray
1 pound ground beef
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 package taco seasoning mix
1 tomato, chopped
1 bunch green onions, chopped
2 tablespoons hot taco sauce, or more to taste
1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
1 (8 ounce) package shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 (14.5 ounce) package tortilla chips, or more as needed

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease. Stir bell pepper and taco seasoning into ground beef. Spread ground beef mixture into prepared casserole dish.
Sprinkle tomato and green onions over ground beef mixture; top with taco sauce. Spread sour cream over taco sauce layer and top with Cheddar cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted and bubbling, 10 to 20 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips.

This recipe was given to us by a good friend who serves it at his annual Christmas party. We have found it a hearty, satisfying dip, great for parties, or even just for dinner! It freezes well, so we usually hold some back for another time. We also keep ground beef, cooked with onion, in the freezer. This makes recipes such as this a snap to put together. We hope you enjoy!

Ingredients

2 -3 lbs ground beef, browned and drained
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning
1 onion, chopped
2 (22 ounce) cans chili beans
1 (16 ounce) jar taco sauce or 1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
2 (16 ounce) packages shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Steps:

Add 1 package dry taco seasoning to beef. Stir well.
Add 1 chopped onion to beef mixture. Stir well.
Combine beef mixture, 2 large cans of chili beans, and 1 jar taco sauce or salsa in a crock pot. Mix well.
Cook for 3-4 hours on low in crock pot. About 25 minutes prior to serving, top with cheese. We like to make a nice layer on top, but then add more cheese as the dip gets eaten.
Serve with tortilla chips.

In a large skillet, brown ground beef and onion over medium heat, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Drain and return to pan.
Add green chilis (4 ounce can), chunky salsa (1.5 cups), chili with beans (16 ounce can) and taco seasoning (one Tbsp) to the pan and simmer on low for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes.
In the meantime, spread cream cheese (one 8 ounce block), on the bottom of a pie pan or medium sized casserole dish.

First, you want to cook the onion and the beef. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the onion saute for 2 minutes, then add the ground beef and half of the taco seasoning. (Save the rest of the taco seasoning, you will need it). Stir the meat to break it up and to evenly distribute the taco seasoning. Once the beef has browned, set it aside.
Pour the refried beans into an 8 inch square baking dish (or similar). Spread into an even layer.
In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese and the remaining taco seasoning together. Then spread over the refried beans.
