The simplicity of Italian flavors like basil and cherry tomato comes through in this healthy, easy pasta dish. Barilla White Fiber pasta adds a boost of fiber but looks and taste like your regular pasta.

4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
½ small onion, diced
2 pints cherry tomatoes, halved
1 pinch Salt to taste
1 pinch Black pepper to taste
6 leaves basil, julienned
½ cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  • In a large skillet, Cook onion in olive oil for 3-4 minutes or until translucent. Add cherry tomatoes and saute for 3 to 4 minutes until blistered. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook pasta 1 minute less than required cooking time, drain and toss with sauce and 1/2 cup pasta cooking liquid. Remove from heat and add basil and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. Stir to combine and serve.

1/3 cup mayonnaise or 1/3 cup salad dressing
2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 (6 1/8 ounce) cans solid white tuna packed in water, drained and flaked
1 large carrot, shredded (1 cup)
1 small zucchini, shredded (1 cup)
1 small onion, chopped (1/4 cup)
lettuce leaf
2 large tomatoes, seeded and chopped (2 cups)
2 tablespoons chopped onions
2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Cook pasta shells as directed on package.
  • While pasta is cooking, prepare Tomato-Basil Vinaigrette.
  • Mix mayonnaise, basil and salt in medium bowl. Stir in tuna, carrot, zucchini and onion until evenly mixed. Drain pasta. Rincse with cold water; drawin. Fill each pasta shell with 1 rounded tablespoon tuna mixture.

250g pack cherry tomato , quartered
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp balsamic vinegar
2 x balls of mozzarella , cubed
bunch of basil , leaves roughly torn
grated parmesan , to serve

Steps:

  • Cook the pasta following pack instructions. Drain, reserving a few tablespoons of water in the pan. Return pasta to the pan over a medium heat and add the tomatoes, oil and balsamic vinegar.
  • Cook for 1-2 mins, then season and stir through mozzarella and basil. Serve with grated parmesan.

2-1/2 cups uncooked medium pasta shells
8 green onions, thinly sliced
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
1/4 pound Canadian bacon, diced
1/4 cup minced fresh basil or 1-1/2 teaspoons dried basil
1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
3/4 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese, divided

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, saute onions in oil until tender. Stir in the tomatoes, bacon, basil and pepper; cook and stir until tomatoes are softened. Rinse and drain pasta; stir into tomato mixture. Add half of the cheese. , Transfer to a 1-1/2-qt. baking dish coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
