  • In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients except olive oil spray. Form the mixture into six 3- to 4-inch diameter patties. Lightly coat a 12-inch nonstick skillet with olive oil spray and heat the pan over medium heat. Brown the patties on both sides, about 4 minutes per side, until cooked through. Serve hot.

2 cups reduced-fat Italian cheese blend (8 oz)

3/4 cup fat-free (skim) milk
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In 12-inch nonstick skillet, cook sausage over medium heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally and breaking up sausage with spoon, until no longer pink; drain if necessary. 1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
4 (6 inch) hoagie rolls, split lengthwise

  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Place sausages on the preheated grill. Grill until browned and cooked through, turning occasionally, 10 to 16 minutes.   • In a bowl mix together the turkey, maple syrup and all spices, mix well then divide into 6- 3oz patties. Place in sealed container in the fridge. You can cook them right away if needed just the spices really come out more when left overnight in the fridge.
  • I cooked 3 patties up at a time, cook for 3-4 minutes then flip and repeat until the patties are cooked right through, mine took about 14 minutes, time may vary depending how thin or thick you make the patties.
