SPIRAL HAM IN CROCKPOT WITH NO SUGAR HAM SAUCE



Spiral Ham in Crockpot With No Sugar Ham Sauce image

7-8 lb bone-in spiral sliced pre-cooked ham
4 T butter
1 T apple cider vinegar
1 T Dijon mustard
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground cloves
2-3 Tbsp sweetener (Swerve, erythritol, honey, brown sugar)

Steps:

  • Preheat the crockpot on low heat
  • Remove the ham from the packaging and put the ham into the crockpot. Slightly separate the ham slices for the ham glaze. Put the lid on the crockpot until the sauce is ready.
  • Melt the butter on medium-low heat in a small saucepan. Add 2 tablespoons of your sweetener of choice (Swerve, honey, brown sugar, or erythritol), bring it to a slow simmer, where it's just starting to bubble. This will take about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the apple cider vinegar, dijon mustard, cloves, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Simmer all ingredients on medium-low for 5+ minutes until it's slightly thickened. If it starts to bubble up, turn down the heat to low. Periodically stir the glaze to keep it from sticking.
  • Pour the sugar free ham glaze over the ham and cook covered for 4-5 hours, or until the ham reaches an internal temperature of 180F.
  • After putting the ham on a serving platter, drizzle the ham pan drippings over the top.
  • Serves 12-14 people.

Easy Slow Cooker Ham image

This recipe has become, hands-down, my favorite ham! This has replaced our Christmas Ham and makes the entire house smell amazing! There is nothing like coming home with this ham cooking! Experiment with the amounts of seasonings to your liking. I prefer more nutmeg but some prefer less nutmeg and more maple syrup!

1 (6 pound) bone-in country ham
30 whole cloves
3 cups apple cider, or as needed
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 tablespoons ground cloves
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 orange's peel

Steps:

  • Press whole cloves into the ham so they are evenly distributed. You may score the ham for easier insertion if you wish. Place the ham in a slow cooker. Pour in apple cider until only about 2 inches of ham is above the surface. Pack the brown sugar on top of the ham, pressing into the cloves. This will get washed away in the next step but any that stays on is a bonus.
  • Pour the maple syrup over the ham. Season the apple cider with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, ground cloves and vanilla. Add the orange peel to the pot. Fill the slow cooker as full as you can with apple cider without going over the fill line. Cover and set to Low. Cook for 8 to 10 hours.

4 large apples - peeled, cored, and sliced
½ cup raisins
½ cup brown sugar
⅓ cup water
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground cloves

Steps:

  • Combine apples, raisins, brown sugar, water, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a slow cooker; mix well.
  • Cook on High until soft, about 4 hours. Serve in bowls with cooking liquid poured over the top.

  • 1) Add the Ham to the slow Cooker. Pour over the Apple juice. Sprinkle over the brown sugar. 2) Spread over the apples, and sprinkle over the cloves. 3) Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours without opening the lid during the cooking time. 4) Serve the Ham slices topped with the apples and sauce. 5) Enjoy.

1 11-to-15-pound whole smoked ham
3/4 cup apple butter
1/2 cup dijon mustard
1/4cup packed light brown sugar
1/4cup apple cider vinegar
1/4teaspoon ground cloves
8 small apples, halved

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Score the ham with a paring knife through the skin and fat in a tight crosshatch pattern. Place the ham, fat-side up, in a large roasting pan. Bake 1 hour, 30 minutes.
  • Make the glaze: Whisk the apple butter, mustard, brown sugar, vinegar and cloves in a bowl until smooth. After 1 hour, 30 minutes, brush the ham all over with some of the glaze and bake 20 more minutes. Add the apples to the pan, cut-side up, and bake, brushing the ham with more of the glaze every 20 minutes, until the ham is crisp and the apples are tender, 1 hour to 1 hour, 30 minutes. (Turn the apples cut-side down in the last 20 minutes.)
  • Transfer the ham to a cutting board and let rest 15 minutes before carving. Serve with the roasted apples.

2 Granny Smith apples, diced (with skin)
3 cloves garlic, smashed
4 sprigs thyme
8 large sprigs parsley
1 tablespoon pickling spice
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 4 -to-5-pound smoked picnic ham (pork shoulder)
1 pound medium turnips, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
2 cups dry white wine
1 pound frozen chopped winter greens (such as turnip greens, kale or spinach), thawed

Steps:

  • Put the apples, garlic, thyme, parsley, pickling spice and brown sugar in a 5-to-6-quart slow cooker. Add the ham and surround it with the turnips. Pour in the wine and 2 cups water. Cover and cook on low, 7 hours.
  • Remove the ham from the slow cooker. Add the greens to the cooker and stir to combine with the liquid. Return the ham to the cooker, cover and cook on high 30 minutes.
  • Slice the ham and serve with the turnips, apples and greens.
