BAKED BABY BACK RIBS

Baked Baby Back Ribs image

Even a barbeque purist cannot scoff at these foil-wrapped, baked and glazed baby back ribs. They're satisfyingly sweet, savory, smoky and flavorful. The meat falls off the bones! Baking in foil also reduces the amount of clean up. You'll be busy enjoying these ribs -- who has time for dishes?

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Categories     main-dish

Time 3h20m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 slabs baby back ribs, about 1 pound each (see Cook's Note)
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon chipotle chile powder
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon seafood seasoning, such as Old Bay
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 cup apple cider
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, chipotle chile powder, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, seafood seasoning and black pepper.
  • Place each slab of ribs on a piece of aluminum foil large enough to fold over and seal, then place on a baking sheet. Do not seal the ribs in the foil yet (see Cook's Note). Generously sprinkle the dry rub on both sides of the ribs. Place in the refrigerator, meat-side down and uncovered, for at least 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.
  • In a small bowl, combine the apple cider, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, Worcestershire and minced garlic. Pour half the liquid over each slab and tightly seal each in the aluminum foil, crimping the edges to make a packet.
  • Transfer the foil packets and baking sheet to the oven and bake until the meat is tender and starts to pull away from the bones, about 2 hours.
  • Remove the sheet pan from the oven. Carefully open the aluminum packets and pour the braising liquid into a small saucepan. Bring the liquid to a simmer over medium heat until it becomes a thick and syrupy glaze, about 4 minutes.
  • While the braising liquid reduces, line a baking sheet with foil and gently transfer the ribs to it. Position a rack on the top level of the oven and preheat the broiler.
  • Using a pastry brush, generously brush the ribs with about half the glaze. Place the ribs under the broiler for about 1 minute. Brush with the remaining glaze and return to the broiled until charred in spots, about 1 minute more. Slice each rack between the bones into 2-rib portions and serve.

ONE-PAN BABY BACK RIBS RECIPE BY TASTY

One-Pan Baby Back Ribs Recipe by Tasty image

You don't need a barbecue to make flavorful baby back ribs - in fact, all you really need is one sheet tray. After slowly roasting the ribs on it, load it up with corn and asparagus in the final ten minutes of cooking and dinner is done. The ribs will be falling off the bone, and the veggies will be perfectly tender yet crisp. The best part? You'll only have to wash one dish.

SMOKY BABY BACK OVEN RIBS RECIPE BY TASTY

Smoky Baby Back Oven Ribs Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: baby back ribs, McCormick® Smoky Spice Blend, kosher salt, ketchup, honey, dijon mustard, worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, white onion, McCormick® Smoky Spice Blend

Provided by Jordan Kenna

Categories     Dinner

Time 3h15m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 lb baby back ribs
3 tablespoons McCormick® Smoky Spice Blend
1 tablespoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
½ cup ketchup
⅓ cup honey
¼ cup dijon mustard
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
½ cup white onion, roughly chopped
2 tablespoons McCormick® Smoky Spice Blend

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 300˚F (150°C). Arrange a rack in the center of the oven.
  • Using a paring knife, cut a small slit in the membrane of the ribs. Slide the blade underneath the membrane and over the bone. Lift the membrane with the knife until it tears away from the bone. Grip the released membrane with a paper towel or kitchen towel and pull away to remove.
  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the ribs in the center. Season the ribs on both sides with the smoky spice blend and salt. Tightly wrap the ribs in foil.
  • Transfer the ribs to the oven and cook for 2 hours and 40 minutes to 3 hours, until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.
  • While the ribs are cooking, make the smoky barbecue sauce: In the bowl of a food processor, combine the ketchup, honey, Dijon, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, onion, and smoky spice blend. Process on high speed for 45-60 seconds, until the onion is completely broken down. Transfer the sauce to a bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Remove the ribs from the oven and turn the broiler on high.
  • Unwrap the ribs and generously baste the tops with the barbecue sauce. Return the ribs to the oven and broil for 1-2 minutes, until the sauce is beginning to caramelize.
  • Remove the ribs from the oven and baste again with more barbecue sauce.
  • Serve the ribs with more barbecue sauce on the side.
  • Enjoy!

JUICY KETO OVEN BAKED RIBS RECIPE

Juicy Keto Oven Baked Ribs Recipe image

Crave delicious, fall-off-the-bone ribs? This easy method shows you how to make the perfect, flavorful, juicy keto ribs baked in your oven.

Provided by Kim Hardesty

Categories     Dinner

Time 3h

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 full racks baby back ribs
2 tbsp olive oil, divided
2 tbsp BBQ Dry Rub for Chicken and Pork ((or your favorite))
salt and pepper
1/2 cup Keto BBQ Sauce ((or your favorite))

Steps:

  • Remove the skin off the back (bone side) of each rack of ribs: Using a thin paring knife (or flathead screwdriver), slide it under the clear membrane over one of the bones. Lift up to separate and pull-off with your fingers or with a paper towel. It comes off in sheets and takes a little time. Be patient.
  • Line a large sheet pan with aluminum foil. Preheat oven to 275 F and move rack to middle position.
  • Dry the ribs with paper towels and rub olive oil on both sides of ribs, 1/2 tbsp per side. Season the back of the ribs with salt and pepper, then apply 1/2 tbsp of the dry rub and massage into the ribs. Flip the racks over and repeat on the meat side.
  • Cover the ribs with foil, sealing around the outside rim of the baking sheet, and cook 2 - 2 1/2 hours or until the tines of a fork slide easily between the ribs.
  • Remove the foil cover and place the ribs on a rack fitted into the sheet pan. Sprinkle more salt and pepper and dry rub over the ribs and cook an additional 20-30 minutes uncovered.
  • Turn the broiler to high and place the oven rack to the closest position. Remove the foil cover and flip the ribs bone side up. Slather the back of the ribs with bbq sauce, approximately 2 tbsp each. Place the ribs under the broiler for 3-5 minutes or until the sauce begins to darken in spots. The time will depend on your oven broiler. Remove the ribs from the oven, flip them over and repeat.

  • Prep the ribs: Depending on how the butcher has trimmed the ribs, there may be a tough, rubbery membrane on the underside. If so, score meat between bones (being careful not to cut the meat) and pull membrane away.
  • Set up grill for indirect cooking: arrange heat source (charcoal or gas) on one side of grill and heat to medium-high.
  • To cook in the oven, preheat oven to 300 degrees. Place rib packets on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake until a knife can pierce meat with no resistance, 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

  • Preheat oven to 300F. In a small bowl mix all of rub seasonings together. Lay 2 sheets of foil down on a sheet pan. Rinse your ribs with cold water and pat *completely* dry with paper towel (having your ribs be slightly wet will cause steaming which you do not want).
  • Lay ribs on foil and use all of your rub on both sides -- make sure seasoning is spread evenly. Use another sheet of foil for over top and tightly seal shut to prevent ribs from steaming/to bake properly. Bake for 2 1/2 hours.
  • Once time is up remove ribs from oven, take the top sheet of foil off. Turn oven broil on high and baste ribs with BBQ sauce, place back in oven for 2 minutes. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning. Repeat process until BBQ sauce is used up and ribs are crispy on the outside. Serve with your favorite barbecue sides and ENJOY!
