CLASSIC SPINACH SALAD

Steps:

• In a large bowl toss together the spinach, crumbled bacon, if using or eggs, mushrooms and red onion. Top with your favorite vinaigrette.

SOUTHERN STYLE SPINACH

Steps:

• Thaw spinach and squeeze out excess juice.
• Fry bacon till crisp, remove and reserve 3 tablespoons of drippings.
• Saute onions, garlic, and jalapenos in bacon drippings, just until onions are translucent.
• Add vinegar and brown sugar and stir until disolved.
• Add spinach and saute for about 5 minutes.
• Salt and pepper to taste.
• Sprinkle on crumbled bacon.

GRANDMA'S SPINACH SALAD

Steps:

• Whisk first 4 ingredients until sugar is dissolved., In a 13x9-in. dish, layer half of each of the following: spinach, onion, mushrooms and eggs. Repeat layers. Drizzle with dressing; top with bacon.

SOUTHWESTERN SPINACH SALAD

Steps:

• In a small bowl, combine the picante sauce, salad dressing and cumin. , In a salad bowl, combine the spinach, beans, mushrooms, pepper, onion and bacon. Drizzle with dressing; toss to coat. Garnish with eggs. Serve with additional picante sauce if desired.

EASY AND AWESOME SPINACH SALAD

Steps:

• Place the bacon into a skillet over medium heat, and cook until browned and crisp, turning often, about 10 minutes. Transfer the bacon to paper towels to absorb excess grease. Crumble the bacon when cool.
• Place the spinach into a large salad bowl, and sprinkle with the bacon, hard-cooked eggs, and onion. Gently toss the salad.
• In a bowl, whisk together the sugar, ketchup, vegetable oil, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce until the sugar has dissolved. Pour the dressing over the salad, and toss thoroughly to combine all ingredients.

SOUTHERN SPINACH SALAD WITH PECANS & STRAWBERRIES

Steps:

• Toast Pecans - Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Arrange pecans on a single layer on a baking sheet and roast in preheated oven for 7-10 minutes, until they just begin to darken. Remove from oven and set aside. Once cooled, coarsely chop half of the pecans, leaving the other whole. These can be stored safely for up to two weeks in an air-tight container, longer in a freezer.
• For Dressing - In a sauce pan, combine last five ingredients. Bring to a simmer, and simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat. This can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 months.
• For Serving Salad - toss the spinach, strawberries, and red onion to mix. Top with pecans, blue cheese and dressing then lightly toss into salad. (If making this in advance, do the final toss right before serving, keeping the pecans and cheese separate).
