Steps:

  • Cook spaghetti noodles according to package's instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Add butter to a large skillet and melt over medium heat. Add garlic and stir until fragrant (2-3 minutes). Transfer spaghetti to the pan and stir to coat in the garlic butter.
  • Add heavy cream and parmesan to pan and stir until parmesan is completely melted and combined and noodles are coated.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, sprinkle with parmesan cheese and serve immediately.

I've included options for some variations to create not-so-simple but extremely tasty side dishes or complete, one-dish meals by adding ingredients you probably have on hand.

1 lb pasta, cooked (any type)
3 -4 tablespoons butter or 3 -4 tablespoons olive oil
1/4-1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/8-1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
fresh ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Put pasta into a microwavable dish large enough to give you a little room for stirring and tossing.
  • Dot pasta with butter or drizzle with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle Parmesan over top. Add plenty of fresh-ground, black pepper.
