I love making this easy grilled ham and cheese sandwich on a cool night with a cup of tomato soup.

2 slices whole grain bread
2 teaspoons butter
2 slices Swiss cheese
2 thin slices deli ham
1 teaspoon mayonnaise
1 teaspoon whole grain mustard

Steps:

Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
Spread one side of each slice of bread with 1 teaspoon butter. Place one slice, butter-side down in the hot skillet. Top with Swiss cheese and ham. Spread the unbuttered side of the second slice of bread with mayonnaise and mustard; place it, butter-side up on top of the sandwich. Cook until the sandwich is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3 minutes per side.

¼ cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons prepared horseradish mustard
2 tablespoons chopped onions
1 teaspoon poppy seeds
1 teaspoon dill seed
8 slices Swiss cheese
8 slices cooked ham
8 hamburger buns

Steps:

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
Combine butter, mustard, onions, poppy seeds and dill seed. Spread insides of buns with this mixture. Place a slice of cheese and a slice of ham inside each bun.
Wrap buns in foil and place in preheated oven. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until cheese has melted.

I got this recipe from my sister, who got it from her MIL. Easy and yummy! We like Colby or Pepper Jack Cheese with these! You can make more spread if you like a lot.

1 lb shaved deli ham
4 slices cheese
4 hamburger buns
4 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons mustard
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 tablespoon onion flakes
2 teaspoons sugar

Steps:

Mix together the spread (which consists of the melted butter, mustard, poppy seeds, onion flakes, and sugar).
Spread it on the bun.
Make up your sandwich.
Brush butter on top of bun if you like.
Put in the oven for 7-8 minutes at 350 degrees.

1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted, plus more for greasing the pan
32 ounces frozen, shredded hash browns, thawed, drained if needed
7 large eggs
1 1/2 cups half-and-half
1 1/2 cups shredded mixed Gruyere and Swiss cheese
1/3 cup chopped fresh chives
4 ounces sliced deli ham, diced
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

Position an oven rack in the bottom third of the oven and preheat it to 425 degrees F. Generously grease a 9-inch springform pan with butter.
Toss the hash browns with the butter in a large bowl until well coated. Evenly press the hash browns into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pan. Bake until deep golden brown and crispy, 40 to 45 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees F.
Meanwhile, whisk the eggs and half-and-half in a large bowl until combined. Fold in the cheese, chives, ham, 1 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of black pepper. Pour the egg mixture into the potato crust and bake until the eggs are set, 40 to 45 minutes more.
