2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
1/4 cup salsa-flavored process cheese sauce
1/4 cup hot water
1/2 pound cooked beef, shredded (about 1 cup)
1 jar (16 oz) Old El Paso™ Thick 'n Chunky salsa
1 can (15 oz) Progresso™ black beans, drained, rinsed
1 cup chopped tomato
4 medium green onions, sliced (1/4 cup)
1 cup shredded pepper Jack cheese

Steps:

  • Move oven rack to lowest position. Heat oven to 375° F. Spray 12-inch pizza pan with cooking spray.
  • In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, cheeese sauce and hot water until soft dough forms. On surface sprinkled with Bisquick mix, gently roll dough in Bisquick mix to coat. Shape into a ball; knead 5 times or until smooth. Press dough into pan, using fingers dipped in Bisquick mix.
  • In large bowl, mix beef, salsa and beans; spoon mixture over dough to within 1 inch of edge. Top with tomato and green onions; sprinkle with cheese.
  • Bake 28 to 30 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.

Nonstick cooking spray, for the pan
2 tablespoons flavorless oil
2 carrots, finely chopped
1 large onion, finely chopped
Kosher salt
1 pound ground beef
2 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon Aleppo pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
Freshly ground black pepper
5 to 6 sheets matzo
1 large egg lightly beaten with a splash of water, for the egg wash
Fresh parsley or micro greens, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Grease an 8-inch cake pan with cooking spray and set aside.
  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the carrots, onions and a pinch of salt and cook, stirring, until the onions are soft and translucent, 5 to 7 minutes. Add the beef, sprinkle it with the cumin, cinnamon, Aleppo pepper, allspice, 1 teaspoon salt and a few turns of black pepper and cook, breaking up the beef with a spoon or spatula, until it is fully cooked and no longer pink, 8 to 10 minutes. Taste and adjust the seasoning as desired.
  • Soak the matzo in warm water for a few minutes until it has softened. Line the bottom and sides of the prepared cake pan with the matzo pieces, breaking it up as needed and packing it down firmly. It will look a little rustic which is ok. Use a paper towel to blot away excess moisture once the matzo is in the pan, then pour in the beef mixture and pack it down firmly. Cover the top with soaked matzo, pressing the edges to seal, and then brush it with a healthy coating of egg wash. Bake until browned, about 30 minutes.
  • Let cool in the pan on a rack for 10 minutes, then invert onto a plate. Top with parsley or micro greens and serve.

  • In a large skillet, cook and stir beef and pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the sauce mix, tomato paste and water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 7-10 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. , Separate biscuits; press onto the bottom and up the sides of a greased 9-in. deep-dish pie plate to form a crust. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese; fill with meat mixture., Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and remaining Parmesan cheese over top. Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400ºF.
  • Drain tomatoes, reserving liquid. Brown meat in medium skillet, adding reserved tomato liquid for the last 5 min.; drain. Return meat to skillet; stir in half the cheese sauce.
  • Unroll pizza dough; cut in half. Press half the dough onto bottom and up side of 9-inch pie plate. Spread meat onto bottom of crust; top with tomatoes and half the remaining cheese sauce.

1 can (11-1/2 ounces) condensed bean with bacon soup, undiluted

  • Preheat oven to 425°. In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until beef is no longer pink. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Drain. In a large bowl, combine soup, 1 cup picante sauce, cornstarch, parsley, paprika, salt and pepper. 4 large eggs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 1/4 cups pizza sauce
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups grated mozzarella
8 ounces spaghetti, cooked and cooled
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup cooked, crumbled sausage
5 thinly sliced green bell pepper rings
1/4 cup sliced red onions
1/4 cup sliced black olives
Basil leaves or arugula, for garnish

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Whisk together the eggs, Parmesan, garlic powder, oregano, red pepper flakes and 1/4 cup of the pizza sauce in a large bowl. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add 1/2 cup of the mozzarella and the spaghetti, then toss well to coat the pasta.
  • Heat the olive oil in a 12-inch ovenproof nonstick skillet over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the spaghetti mixture and spread it evenly over the bottom of the pan. Turn the heat to low and cook just until the edges are beginning to set, about 3 minutes.
  • Pour the remaining 2 cups pizza sauce evenly over the top and spread evenly.
  • Top with the remaining 1 cup mozzarella, sausage, green peppers, onions and black olives. Transfer to the oven and cook until the spaghetti mixture is fully set and the cheese is bubbly, about 12 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes. Using a spatula, slide out of the pan. Top with basil. Cut into wedges and serve.

1/3 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 cup Bisquick
1 cup milk
2 eggs
8 ounces pizza sauce

3/4-1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Spray a 9 inch pie pan with cooking spray.

2 (6 ounce) fillets cod or other white fish fillets, cut into 1-inch pieces
¼ teaspoon hot chili powder
3 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Place potatoes into a pot with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, and cook until tender, about 10 minutes. Drain and mash with milk and butter until smooth.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry onion and carrots in the oil until starting to soften. Season with salt, pepper and chili powder. Stir in the cream and parsley, and remove from the heat.
  • Place fish in an even layer in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pour the cream and vegetable mixture over the fish, then cover with a layer of mashed potatoes. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.

2 tbsp vegetable oil
1kg good-quality braising steak , cut into 2.5cm chunks
1 large onion , finely chopped
2 garlic cloves , finely chopped
small piece ginger , finely chopped
2 tsp Sichuan peppercorn
25g plain flour , plus a little extra for dusting
1 tbsp tomato purée
3 medium carrots , cut into large chunks
2 star anise
1 cinnamon stick
100ml soy sauce
3 red chillies , left whole, but pierced
375g pack ready rolled all-butter puff pastry
1 egg , beaten

Steps:

  • Heat half the oil in a heavy-based flameproof casserole pan on a medium heat. Fry the meat in batches until browned, then remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Turn down the heat, add the remaining oil to the pan and cook the onion, garlic and ginger for a few mins until starting to soften. Crush the Sichuan peppercorns using a pestle and mortar, then add the flour and mix well. Add the spiced flour to the onion, mix well until all the onion is coated, then return the meat to the pan along with the tomato purée, carrots, star anise and cinnamon. Give everything a good stir, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pan. Cook for 1 min.
  • Add the soy sauce, chillies and 400ml water. Bring up to a simmer and cook very slowly - the sauce should be bubbling gently but not boiling - for 1½ hrs until the meat is really tender. Leave to cool.
  • Heat oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5. Once cool, spoon the filling into a 2-litre pie dish, removing the cinnamon stick, chillies and star anise. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface until it is about 2cm larger than the dish. Put a pie funnel in the middle of the pie (it will stop the pastry sinking and becoming soggy).
  • Brush the edges of the dish with a little of the egg to help the pastry seal. Lay the pastry over the top, pressing down well. Pierce centre and trim off the excess pastry with a sharp knife. Brush liberally with egg and bake for 30-35 mins.
