SPICY COTTAGE CHEESE



Spicy Cottage Cheese image

This is for those of you who would like to include cottage cheese in your breakfast meal but find it too bland on its own. You can also have it as a healthy afternoon snack.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup low fat cottage cheese
1 1/2 tablespoons canned garbanzo beans
1/4 teaspoon chat masala (available in Indian grocery stores)
1/8 teaspoon chili powder
fresh chives, to garnish

Steps:

  • In a large bowl combine the first 4 ingredients.
  • Garnish with chopped chives.
  • If you would some crunch, also sprinkle some crushed roasted popadums on top.

2 slices whole wheat bread, sliced thin
3 tablespoons light cottage cheese (I use weight watchers)
1 tablespoon sambal oelek
1/2 teaspoon Splenda granular (optional)
1/2 small tomatoes

Steps:

  • Mix cottage cheese with sambal oelek and splenda. Splenda will make this a little sweet if it's too plain for you.
  • Slice tomato and place on bread.
  • Top with cottage cheese mixture.
  • Toast until brown.
