1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup spicy brown mustard
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon minced fresh gingerroot
1-1/4 pounds smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
16 cherry tomatoes
8 medium fresh mushrooms
1 large green pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 medium onion, cut into eight wedges
1 small zucchini, cut into 1-inch pieces

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Add the sausage and vegetables; toss to coat. Drain and reserve marinade. , On eight metal or soaked wooden skewers, alternately thread sausage and vegetables. Broil 3-4 in. from the heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or until vegetables are tender and sausage is heated through, basting occasionally with reserved marinade.

1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
24 Chipolata sausage
8 large shallots, peeled and halved lengthwise
1 red bell pepper, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 zucchini, cut into 1/2-inch rounds
1 large carrot, peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch thick rounds

Steps:

  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat. Soak eight wooden skewers in water to prevent burning when grilled.
  • Mix honey, mustard, soy sauce, and five spice powder together in a large bowl. Add sausage, shallot, red pepper, zucchini, and carrot, and toss thoroughly to coat. Alternately thread sausage, shallot, red pepper, zucchini, and carrot onto skewers.
  • Cook skewers on the prepared grill until sausage is evenly brown and vegetables are tender.

1 tablespoon cornstarch
2/3 cup apple juice
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 teaspoon orange zest
1 lb kielbasa, cut in chunks
1 green bell pepper, cut into chunks (or red bell pepper)
1 onion, cut into chunks
1 cup pineapple chunk

Steps:

  • In small saucepan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, apple juice, cider vinegar and orange peel; blend well.
  • Cook over medium heat until it boils and thickens, stirring constantly.
  • Thread skewers with kielbasa, bell peppers, onions, and pineapples.
  • When ready to barbeque, place kabobs on preheated grill.
  • Cook 4 minutes.
  • Brush with glaze, turn and glaze again.
  • Cook 3-5 minutes or until hot and browned.
  • Serve with any remaining glaze.

1 pound small red potatoes, halved or quartered if desired
1 tablespoon water
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon grated orange zest
1 pound smoked turkey kielbasa, sliced 1/2 inch thick
2 small yellow summer squash, sliced 1/2 inch thick
2 small zucchini, sliced 1/2 inch thick

Steps:

  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine potatoes and water. Cover and microwave on high until tender, 6-8 minutes; drain and set aside. For glaze, combine the honey, mustard and orange zest in a small bowl., On 8 metal or soaked wooden skewers, alternately thread the sausage, potatoes, yellow squash and zucchini; brush with half of the glaze. , On a lightly oiled grill rack, grill kabobs, uncovered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat until vegetables are tender and sausage is heated through, 10-16 minutes, basting frequently with glaze.

drizzle of sunflower oil
12 sturdy rosemary sprigs, each about 10cm long
6 rashers streaky bacon
36 cocktail sausages
2 tbsp maple syrup

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Grease a large baking tray with a little oil. To prepare your skewers, remove most of the leaves from each rosemary sprig, keeping a few leaves at the end. Sharpen the other end to a point by cutting it at an angle.
  • Stretch the bacon by placing it on a chopping board and running the back of a knife along the length. Cut each piece in half across the middle. Thread 3 sausages onto each skewer, weaving a piece of bacon around them as you do.
  • Arrange the skewers on the baking tray and bake for 20 mins. Turn them, brush with maple syrup and return to the oven for 10 mins more until really sticky.
