SPINACH AND ARTICHOKE DIP STUFFED GARLIC BREAD

Spinach and Artichoke Dip Stuffed Garlic Bread image

Adapted from Recipe Tin Eats

Provided by Morgan

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 baguette
1/2 tablespoon oil
1 (14 oz) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
1 (10 oz) bag baby spinach leaves
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
3 green onions, sliced
Salt and pepper, to taste
3 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
Parmesan cheese, grated, to top
Fresh basil leaves or parsley, torn, to top

Steps:

  • Cut the baguette into 4 pieces. Use a long knife to cut out the insides, leaving some bread along the edges. Pull out the loose bread to leave hollow bread quarters. Set aside.
  • Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add in the artichoke pieces and cook for one minute. Reduce heat to medium, add in the spinach, and cook until wilted, turning often.
  • Mix in the cream cheese and mozzarella, and let it melt entirely. Fold in the green onions and season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Stuff the baguette quarters with the spinach and artichoke dip, using a spoon to help pack the dip.
  • Once the bread is stuffed, transfer it to a cutting board. Line up the quarters so that they fit together as they did before the baguette was cut. Slice the baguette into slices that are approximately 1″ thick.
  • Tear a piece of heavy duty foil that is about 5-6 inches longer than the baguette. Slide the baguette slices off of the cutting board and onto the foil, keeping them together.
  • In a small bowl, combine the butter and minced garlic. Loosely cover the top and microwave for a minute, or until the butter is fully melted. Brush the garlic butter over the baguette, allowing some to drip down between the slices. Make sure to get all of the minced garlic on top of the bread.
  • Wrap the foil around the bread and bake for 15 minutes. Unwrap the bread and bake for 5 minutes, or until the top browns slightly.
  • Remove from the oven, top with parmesan cheese and torn basil or parsley leaves, and serve warm.

STUFFED GARLIC SPINACH BREAD

Stuffed Garlic Spinach Bread image

A great combo with soup or salad ... a perfect "side" with Italian food ... a hearty snack. Garlic Spinach Bread packs homemade flavor, along with a half-cup of a nutrient-rich, colorful array of veggies in every slice. Canned spinach and bell peppers, mixed in a savory bread filling, make each hearty slice into a rich source of vitamins A and C.

Provided by cannedfood

Categories     Breads

Time 40m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, divided
1 large onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can chopped spinach, no salt added, drained and squeezed dry
1/2 cup diced canned red bell pepper (pimentos)
12 large black olives, chopped (optional)
1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese, divided
kosher salt & fresh ground pepper, to taste
1 lb frozen pizza dough, thawed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and sauté until tender, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and stir 30 seconds. Remove from heat and stir in spinach, peppers, olives, crushed pepper, 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.
  • Roll out pizza dough into a 12-inch round using just enough flour on the work surface and dough to keep it from sticking. Brush off excess flour and transfer dough to a baking sheet. Sprinkle remaining Parmesan cheese over the center and mound the spinach mixture on one side of the dough leaving a 1/2-inch border of exposed dough at the edge. Brush the exposed edge with water, and fold the other side of the dough over top, stretching it so that it completely encases the filling. Firmly pinch the edges together sealing the filling inside. Cut 4 slits in the top and brush with remaining olive oil. Bake until crisp and brown, about 20 minutes; cool 10 minutes before serving. Cut in 6 wedges.

MOZZARELLA-STUFFED GARLIC-AND-HERB BREAD

Mozzarella-Stuffed Garlic-and-Herb Bread image

For this surefire crowd-pleaser, we singled out the best part of a stuffed-crust pizza: the crust, of course. Load an easy dough up with thinly sliced low-moisture mozzarella, then give it a generous flurry of garlic, Italian seasoning, fresh parsley, sesame seeds, and grated Parmigiano. After baking, seal the deal with a side of marinara sauce.

Provided by Greg Lofts

Time 1h40m

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 2/3 cups unbleached bread flour, plus more for dusting
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast (not rapid-rise)
2 teaspoons kosher salt (we use Diamond Crystal)
1 cup warm water
6 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided, plus more for drizzling
12 ounces whole or part-skim low-moisture mozzarella, such as Polly-O, thinly sliced
1/2 ounce Parmigiano-Reggiano, finely grated (1/3 cup)
2 tablespoons minced garlic (from 5 to 6 cloves)
1 1/2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red-pepper flakes
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Warm marinara sauce, for serving (optional)

Steps:

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, yeast, and salt. Make a well in center of mixture; add warm water and 2 tablespoons oil to well. Gradually stir flour mixture into wet mixture to form a ragged dough. Transfer to a floured work surface.
  • Knead with floured hands until dough is tacky but no longer sticky and springs back when pressed with a finger, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a bowl drizzled with oil, turning dough to evenly coat. Cover and let proof at room temperature until doubled in volume, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 450°F with a rack in lowest position. Punch down dough, transfer to a lightly floured work surface, and cut in half. Stretch one piece of dough, working outward from center, into an oval, approximately 9 by 13 inches. Brush 2 tablespoons oil onto a rimmed baking sheet. Place dough on sheet; top evenly with mozzarella, leaving a 1-inch border of dough around edges.
  • Stretch second piece of dough on floured work surface to roughly same oval shape. Place over mozzarella, gently pressing to remove excess air from between doughs. Fold edge of bottom dough up and over edge of top dough, pinching to seal edges together. Sprinkle top evenly with Parmigiano; drizzle with remaining 2 tablespoons oil.
  • Stir together garlic, Italian seasoning, parsley, red-pepper flakes, and sesame seeds; sprinkle evenly over dough. Cut several steam vents in top of dough at 2-inch intervals.
  • Bake until dough is golden brown in places and just cooked through, 18 to 20 minutes. (If dough puffs in places while baking, pierce with the tip of a knife to release steam.) Transfer bread from baking sheet to a wire rack and let cool a few minutes. Slice and serve hot, with marinara alongside for dipping.

CHICKEN PARMESAN-STUFFED GARLIC BREAD RECIPE BY TASTY

Chicken Parmesan-Stuffed Garlic Bread Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: boneless, skinless chicken breast, flour, eggs, seasoned breadcrumb, oil, large baguette, mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce, butter, garlic, fresh parsley, grated parmesan cheese

Provided by Tasty

Categories     Appetizers

Yield 3 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
2 cups flour
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups seasoned breadcrumb
1 cup oil, for frying
1 large baguette
10 slices mozzarella cheese
marinara sauce
⅓ cup butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Slice the chicken breast into ½ inch (1 ¼ cm) thick strips.
  • Place the flour, eggs, and bread crumbs into 3 separate bowls.
  • Roll a chicken strip in the flour, dusting off excess. Dip the strip into the egg, then place into the bread crumbs, coating it completely.

  • Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat to 350˚F (180˚C).
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180˚C).
  • Fry the breaded chicken strips until both sides are golden brown.
  • Remove from heat and drain on a paper towel.
  • Slice the baguette into thirds or fourths (each baguette piece should be roughly the same length of the fried chicken strips).
  • Hollow out the insides of the baguette pieces with a knife.
  • Lay two slices of mozzarella on top of each other with a 1 inch (2 ½ cm) overlap. Place a chicken strip on the overlapping region, then fold the mozzarella tightly around the chicken.
  • Push the rolled chicken strips into a baguette piece.
  • Slice the stuffed baguette pieces into 1 inch (2 ½ cm) slices, then place them tightly side-by-side on a baking sheet lined with foil.
  • In a small bowl, mix together ingredients for garlic butter.
  • Brush the garlic butter evenly over the baguette slices, making sure some drips in between the slices.
  • Wrap the foil over the re-assembled baguette and bake for 20-25 minutes, until cheese is melted and the top is starting to brown.
