1 1/2-2 lbs frozen meatballs
1 (15 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
2/3 cup ketchup
1/2 cup beef broth (I used .5t beef bouillon plus 1/2c water)
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons instant minced onion
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons cider vinegar

Steps:

  • Turn crock pot to High.
  • Add frozen meatballs.
  • Combine sauce ingredients; add additional cayenne if you like it hotter.
  • Pour over meatballs.
  • Cook on High 3 to 4 hours; it should be heated through after 2-1/2 hours.

Cocktail meatballs slow-cooked in a homemade cranberry bbq sauce that's both spicy and sweet, make for the perfect party appetizer!

Number Of Ingredients 14

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large yellow onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
12 ounce bag fresh cranberries
2 cups tomato sauce
2 tablespoons coconut aminos (or soy sauce or tamari)
1/2 cup honey
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons TABASCO® Sauce
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
salt and pepper, to taste
1-32 ounce bag of frozen meatballs
green onions, sliced for garnish

Steps:

  • To a medium saucepan, heat olive oil. Add minced garlic and onion. Cook until the onions are translucent, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Add whole cranberries, tomato sauce, honey, soy sauce, spices, and TABASCO® Sauce; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer until sauce thickens slightly, about 20 minutes.
  • Stir in the apple cider vinegar; and add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Using an immersion blender, mix until all ingredients are smooth. You can also use a blender, or food processor. Can be made in advance.
  • When ready to make meatballs: add meatballs to slow-cooker. Add in BBQ sauce; Cook on LOW for 5-6 hours, or HIGH 2-3 hours.

1 can (14 ounces) jellied cranberry sauce
1 bottle (12 ounces) chili sauce
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 package (32 ounces) frozen fully cooked homestyle meatballs, thawed

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the first six ingredients; stir until sugar is dissolved. Add meatballs; cook until heated through, 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally. , Editor's Note: To prepare in a slow cooker, heat sauce ingredients as directed. Add sauce and meatballs to a 4-qt. slow cooker. Cook, covered, on low until heated through, 2-3 hours. , Freeze Option: Freeze cooled meatball mixture in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Microwave, covered, on high in a microwave-safe dish until heated through, gently stirring and adding a little water if necessary.

2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup cornflake crumbs
1/3 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons dried minced onion
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 pounds ground pork
SAUCE:
1 can (14 ounces) jellied cranberry sauce
1 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Mix first 8 ingredients. Add pork; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into 1-in. meatballs. Place on a greased rack in a 15x10x1-in. pan. Bake until a thermometer reads 160°, 20-25 minutes. Drain meatballs on paper towels. , In a large skillet, cook and stir sauce ingredients over medium heat until blended. Stir in meatballs; heat through.
