Ingredients

1 ounce lemon juice
1/2 ounce Simple Syrup, recipe follows
1/2 ounce vodka
1/4 ounce gin
1/4 ounce rum
1/2 ounce tequila
1/2 ounce whiskey
1/2 ounce triple sec
Splash cola
1 cup sugar
1 cup water

Steps:

For the sour mix: Stir together the lemon juice and Simple Syrup in a glass.
For the Texas tea: Fill a Collins glass with ice. Pour in the vodka, gin, rum, tequila, whiskey, triple sec and 1 ounce of the sour mix. Top off with a splash of cola. Stir once with a bar spoon and serve. No garnish needed.
Put the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. (Alternatively, heat in the microwave.) Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

1-1/2 to 2 cups ice cubes, divided
2 ounces gin
1-1/2 ounces sour mix
1/2 cup club soda, chilled
Optional: orange slice maraschino cherry

Steps:

Fill a shaker three-fourths full with ice. Place remaining ice in a Collins or highball glass; set aside. , Add the gin and sour mix to shaker; cover and shake until condensation forms on outside of shaker, 10-15 seconds. Strain into prepared glass. Pour club soda into glass. If desired, garnish with orange slice and cherry.
