You can't eat just one. Crunchy, sweet, salty, and AMAZING!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg white
1 tablespoon water
1 pound pecan halves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
  • Mix sugar, cinnamon, and salt together in a bowl.
  • Whisk egg white and water together in a separate bowl until frothy. Toss pecans in the egg white mixture. Mix sugar mixture into pecan mixture until pecans are evenly coated. Spread coated pecans onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven, stirring every 15 minutes, until pecans are evenly browned, 1 hour.

Easy Candied Pecans with Cinnamon Sugar image

These little nutty treats are the height of holiday snacking!

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 cups pecan halves
1 egg white
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup sugar (organic cane sugar, granulated, or coconut sugar)
2 teaspoons cinnamon
pinch salt (optional )

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325. Grease a cookie sheet and set aside. Do not use foil or parchment paper on the cookie sheet.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk the egg white until frothy. Add the vanilla and whisk again to combine.
  • Add the pecans and toss to coat them evenly in the egg whites. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl mix the sugar of your choice, salt and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the pecans and toss to coat the nuts evenly.
  • Spread on the cookie sheet in an even layer.
  • Bake, turning the pecans well every 5 minutes until the wetness of the egg dries. Keep turning them often and make sure to bring the nuts along the edge of the pan to the center and the center nuts to the edges so they don't burn. Don't walk away from the stove!
  • Remove the pan from the oven and let the nuts cool on the pan. They will crisp further as they sit. Keep them in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

½ cup butter, melted
1 cup white sugar
3 large egg whites, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste
4 cups pecan halves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. Pour butter over foil layer.
  • Whisk sugar, egg whites, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper together in a large bowl. Add pecans and toss to fully coat. Spread coated pecans on the buttered baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven, stirring and flipping pecans after 10 minutes, until pecans are toasted, about 20 minutes. Cool pecans on baking sheet for 15 minutes.

1/3 cup pecans, sliced-lengthwise
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Slice each pecan half into three lengthwise pieces.
  • Mix together the cinnamon and brown sugar.
  • Toss pecans with melted butter, then with the cinnamon/sugar mixture, tossing well to ensure a thorough coating.
  • Put the nuts on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 5 to 8 minutes, until sugar is caramelized.
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven, slide the parchment together with the nuts off the sheet to cool, and set aside.

1/4 cup maple sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
pinch of salt
1 egg white
1 teaspoon water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups pecan halves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat. Place sugars, cinnamon and salt in a bowl and whisk together. In a large bowl, whisk together egg white, water and vanilla extract until egg whites become frothy. Add pecan halves to bowl and toss until coated. Then add sugar mixture to the large bowl, leaving behind 2 tablespoons of the sugar for later, toss until completely coated. Place on baking sheet in a single layer. Put in oven for 40-45 minutes, tossing every 15 minutes to help cook evenly on all sides. Once the pecans are done cooking, remove from oven, sprinkle with the last of the sugars then let cool completely on baking sheet. Store in air tight container.
