The Mosé image

This cocktail takes all the best elements of a margarita-tequila, citrus, and sugar-and combines them with the dry, summery fun of rosé.

Yield Makes 1 cocktail

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 strawberries, hulled, sliced
1 teaspoon sugar
2 ounces tequila blanco
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
3/4 ounce dry rosé

Steps:

  • Muddle strawberries and sugar in a cocktail shaker until lightly crushed. Add tequila, lemon juice, rosé, and a single large ice cube. Cover and shake until outside of the shaker is frosty, about 30 seconds. Pour drink with ice cube into a rocks glass (do not strain).

1 boneless moose or beef top sirloin steak (about 1 inch thick and 1-1/2 pounds)
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tablespoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 medium carrot, diced
Hot cooked noodles, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Cut steak into serving-size pieces. Combine the cornstarch, mustard, salt and pepper; rub half over steak. Pound with a meat mallet to tenderize. Rub with remaining cornstarch mixture; pound on both sides with the mallet. , In a large skillet, brown steak in oil. Transfer to a greased 2-1/2-qt. baking dish. Top with tomatoes, onion and carrot. Bake, covered, until meat is tender, 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 hours. Serve with noodles if desired.

  • Whisk vanilla ice cream, milk, rum, coffee liqueur, and vodka in a large punch bowl until frothy and liquid; garnish with nutmeg. Ladle into punch mugs.

This imple recipe uses only one pan. Makes the mose tender. I found it in a cookbook called "Cookin' on the KusKOkwim" given to me along with frozen moose my friend shot.

3 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 medium onion, sliced
2 large fresh tomatoes, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 1/2 cups celery, chopped
2 lbs moose, cubed
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 cup flour

Steps:

  • Saute onion and garlic in oil.
  • Add meat and paprika.
  • Cover and cook over medium heat until meat is brown.
  • Add tomatoes and celery.
  • Cover and simmer 1 hour.
  • Add mushrooms.
  • Cover and cook until meat is tender, about another hour.
  • Thicken liquid with flour and water paste.
  • Serve over polenta or cooked noodles.
