Looking for a fun vegan treat for Christmas? Try making these brownies in the shape of Christmas trees. I used pomegranate seeds for the Christmas decorations.

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups white sugar
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
1 cup water
1 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup pomegranate, seeds only, or more to taste
16 candy stars

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a rectangular baking dish.
  • Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Make an indention in the middle and pour in water, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix everything well into a smooth batter. Pour batter into prepared baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the surface is no longer shiny and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 30 to 40 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Run a table knife around the edges to loosen. Invert carefully onto a serving plate or cooling rack. Let cool completely.
  • Cut brownies into pointy triangles. Garnish each with pomegranate seeds and place a star-shaped candy on top.

These Christmas Tree Brownies are what Santa wants for Christmas this year. Forget the sugar cookies, make these sweet and soft Brownie Christmas Trees.

15 ounces brownie mix (1 box)
Ingredients necessary to make brownies.
8 ounces cream cheese (1 package)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon milk
1 Tablespoon butter (at room temperature)
3 cups powdered sugar
4 drops green food coloring
sprinkles

Steps:

  • Mix and bake the brownies according to box instructions.
  • Once the brownies have completely cooled, cut them into triangles. I used a cookie cutter for this process.
  • Place the cut brownies on parchment paper, or cooling rack so they can be easily removed without sticking.
  • In a medium sized bowl, beat the butter, cream cheese, vanilla, and milk together until smooth.
  • Then add the powdered sugar and continue to beat until smooth and creamy.
  • Add 4 drops of green food coloring, and continue to mix until the color is fully mixed in.
  • Scoop the frosting into a plastic Ziploc bag, and cut a small hole in the corner.
  • Pipe the frosting over the triangle brownie in a zigzag pattern.

  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.
