VINTAGE LEMONADE
In the 1800's this is how people made lemonade--you can do it too! It's not that difficult, and tastes wonderful!

Steps:
- Peel the rinds from the 5 lemons and cut them into 1/2 inch slices. Set the lemons aside.
- Place the rinds in a bowl and sprinkle the sugar over them. Let this stand for about one hour, so that the sugar begins to soak up the oils from the lemons.
- Bring water to a boil in a covered saucepan and then pour the hot water over the sugared lemon rinds. Allow this mixture to cool for 20 minutes and then remove the rinds.
- Squeeze the lemons into another bowl. Pour the juice through a strainer into the sugar mixture. Stir well, pour into pitcher and pop it in the fridge! Serve with ice cubes.

ITALIAN LEMONADE

Steps:
- Mix lemon juice, Basil Simple Syrup, and water together in a pitcher. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Pour over ice filled glasses and garnish with a lemon twist.
- In a saucepan combine basil, sugar, and water and simmer until the sugar is dissolved, 5 minutes. Cool, strain the simple syrup, and store in the refrigerator.
HOMEMADE LEMONADE
Ideal as a refreshing picnic drink

Steps:
- Blitz the lemons in a food processor or blender with half of the sugar, some ice cubes and 500ml/18fl oz water. Strain the juice into a jug and reserve.
- Tip the lemon pulp back into the food processor. Add the rest of the sugar, more ice cubes and 500ml/18fl oz water and blitz again. Strain this into the jug with the reserved juice (discard the pulp). Serve with lots of ice.

VICTORIAN LEMONADE
A lovely summer drink, perfect for the beach and very simple to make.

Steps:
- Cut 1 lemon in half, and take 1 half and juice it either by hand or using a lemon juicer. Pour it into a tall glass, then take the other half and juice that half and pour into the glass.
- With the other lemon cut into fine slices and place into the pint of cold water. Leave for 5-10 minutes. Then remove the lemon slices and squeeze by hand into the tall glass.
- Place a sieve over a bowl and pour the lemon juice and the water through it. Then mix with a fork for a few minutes while slowly adding the sugar a bit at a time. Pour in the citric acid. The more sugar you add the sweeter it will be.
- For best serving condition, leave the juice over night in the fridge to keep cold. And Enjoy.
OLD-FASHIONED LEMONADE
Ah, the taste of summer. This classic lemonade recipe is the one my mom used to make for me when I was little. It's the perfect combination of sweet and tart! When using a clear pitcher, adding a few of the juiced lemon halves makes it look prettier.

- Juice the lemons to make 1 cup of juice. To make your labor easier, FIRMLY roll the lemons between your hand and counter top before cutting in half and juicing.
- In a gallon pitcher combine 1 cup lemon juice, 1 cup sugar, and 6 cups cold water. Stir. Adjust water to taste. Chill and serve over ice.
