Here's what you need: all purpose flour, baking powder, kosher salt, whole milk, buttermilk, unsalted butter, vanilla extract, large eggs, sugar, nonstick cooking spray, butter, maple syrup

2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup whole milk
½ cup buttermilk
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs, separated
⅓ cup sugar
nonstick cooking spray, for greasing
butter, for serving
maple syrup, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat a waffle iron to medium-high.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, buttermilk, melted butter, vanilla, and egg yolks. Whisk until the batter just comes together (there will be some lumps).
  • Add the egg whites to a medium bowl and beat with an electric hand mixer until foamy. With the mixer running, gradually add the sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the batter until just combined.
  • Spray the heated waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray. Ladle the batter into the waffle iron, close the lid, and cook according to manufacturer's instructions until the waffle is golden brown and crisp, 5-6 minutes. Transfer the waffle to a plate and repeat with the remaining batter.
  • Serve the waffles hot, with butter and maple syrup alongside.
  • Enjoy!

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, add the beaten eggs, any of your favorite toppings, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Grease a waffle iron with nonstick spray. Add the egg mixture and cook according to machine instruction to until the eggs are fully set and slightly browned, 2 minutes.
  • Remove the egg from the waffle iron and serve.
  • Enjoy!

Waffles are fun to make, so I decided to make this waffle omelette recipe! They are topped with browned sausage, onions, peppers and a chunky cheesy sauce. They are the perfect choice when you want to have breakfast for dinner. -Ronna Farley, Rockville, Maryland

1 pound bulk pork sausage
1/2 pound whole fresh mushrooms, chopped
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped sweet red pepper
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups half-and-half cream, divided
1 teaspoon seasoned salt, divided
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
8 large eggs, room temperature
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Preheat waffle maker. In a large skillet, cook sausage, mushrooms, onion and red pepper over medium heat until sausage is no longer pink and vegetables are tender, 8-10 minutes, breaking up sausage into crumbles; drain. Remove from heat and keep warm., Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, whisk flour, 1-3/4 cups cream and 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt until smooth. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; cook and stir until thickened, 2-3 minutes. Stir in cheese and 1 cup sausage mixture until cheese is melted. Remove from heat and keep warm., In a large bowl, whisk eggs and the remaining 1/4 cup cream and 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt until blended. Bake in a well-greased waffle maker until golden brown, 2-3 minutes. Serve with sausage mixture and cheese sauce; sprinkle with parsley.
