1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger vodka (such as Skyy®)
4 cubes ice, or as needed
1 dash lime juice

Steps:

  • Blend watermelon in a blender until smooth; strain through a fine mesh strainer and discard pulp. Pour strained watermelon juice, and vodka into a cocktail shaker filled with ice; strain into a glass. Squeeze lime juice into the cocktail.

1/2 fluid ounce triple sec
1/2 lemon, juice of
4 ounces watermelon juice (directions below)

Steps:

  • To make watermelon juice: In a blender, whiz ¼ of a whole watermelon cut into chunks, then strain liquid through a sieve, discarding pulp, for watermelon juice.
  • To make cosmo: Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously.
  • Strain into 2 large chilled martini glasses.
  • Garnish with a green melon ball, if you like.

3 cups vodka
3 cups watermelon puree
1 cup fresh lime juice
1/2 cup Simple Syrup, recipe follows
Hollowed-out watermelon, for serving, optional
Fresh mint, for garnish
1 cup sugar

Steps:

  • Pour the vodka, watermelon puree, lime juice and Simple Syrup into a pitcher. Add to a punch bowl or a hollowed-out watermelon. Serve in punch glasses over ice and garnished with mint.
  • Combine the sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Keep covered in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.

4 cups (3/4-inch) diced red watermelon
6 ounces good vodka, such as Grey Goose
3 ounces Cointreau or Triple Sec liqueur
2 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice (2 limes)
4 large mint sprigs, for garnish

Steps:

  • Place the watermelon in a food mill fitted with the largest disc set over a medium bowl and process. The food mill will separate the seeds and the pulp from the juice; you should have about two cups of juice. Pour into a pitcher and discard the seeds and pulp. Stir in the vodka, Cointreau, and lime juice.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker half-full with ice, pour in the cocktail mixture, and shake it for a full 30 seconds. Pour into chilled martini glasses and garnish each glass with a sprig of mint. Serve ice cold.

1 cup vodka, chilled
1/4 cup triple sec, chilled
1/3 cup Cointreau, chilled
Juice of 3 limes
Sugar cane sticks (optional garnish)
Mint sprigs (optional garnish)

Steps:

  • Remove the skin off the mini watermelon with a knife or vegetable peeler. Slice the watermelon pulp into 2" pieces. Place all of the pulp into a blender and blend until smooth. Add the chilled vodka, triple sec, Cointreau, and lime juice to the blender and mix until completely incorporated. Pour the prepared mixture into chilled cocktail glasses. Garnish with sugar cane sticks and a sprig of mint, if desired. Serve immediately.
