WONTON MOZZARELLA STICKS

With just 5 ingredients, you can make these mozzarella sticks in just 10 minutes. That's it. It doesn't get ANY easier than this!

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup vegetable oil
1 large egg, beaten
4 string cheese, halved
8 wonton wrappers
1/2 cup marinara sauce, homemade or store-bought

Steps:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a medium skillet to 325 degrees F. In a small bowl, whisk together egg and 1 tablespoon water. Working one at a time, brush wonton wrapper with egg wash; place string cheese in the center of each wrapper. Bring the bottom edge of the wrap tightly over the cheese, rolling from bottom to top until the top of the sheet is reached, being careful not to tear the wrapper. Repeat with remaining wrappers and string cheese. Add string cheese to the skillet and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 1-2 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. Serve immediately with marinara sauce, if desired.

12 egg roll wrappers
Oil for deep frying
Marinara or spaghetti sauce

Steps:

  • Place a piece of string cheese near the bottom corner of one egg roll wrapper (keep remaining wrappers covered with a damp paper towel until ready to use). Fold bottom corner over cheese. Roll up halfway; fold sides toward center over cheese. Moisten remaining corner with water; roll up tightly to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and cheese.
  • In an electric skillet, heat 1/2 in. of oil to 375°.
  • Fry sticks, a few at a time, for 30-60 seconds on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve with marinara sauce

10 Wonton Wrappers
5 Mozzarella Cheese Sticks (each cut in half)
2 Eggs
Oil For Frying

Steps:

  • Take on wonton wrapper and place one of the halved mozzarella sticks and put it in the middle.
  • Fold the wonton wrapper over the cheese and wrap tight. Make sure that no cheese is showing.
  • Beat the eggs to create an egg wash.
  • Brush the seams of the wonton wrapper with the egg wash.
  • Fry in hot oil for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until golden brown.
  • Serve hot!

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients., Position a wonton wrapper with one point toward you. (Keep remaining wrappers covered with a damp paper towel until ready to use.)
