"ZIPPY" ITALIAN DRESSING



Great Italian dressing that I combined for a antipasti salad. The cayenne pepper gives it a kick. My family loves it!

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 cup olive oil
1/3 cup white wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon jarred pesto sauce
1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
1 tablespoon shredded parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 garlic clove, minced

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a jar with a lid; cover and shake to mix thoroughly.
  • Let stand at least 2 hours to blend seasonings.
  • Shake well before using.
  • Great for lettuce salad, antipasti and for a chicken marinade.

A "quick fixer" with ingredients most people already have on hand. And this is much less expensive! This is the reduced calorie version, but you can switch everything out to regular if you prefer. I'm not a big diet nut, but this one is good.

2 tablespoons dried Italian salad dressing mix (Good Seasons or your own made from scratch, try #63812)
1/2 cup light sour cream
1/2 cup Miracle Whip light

Steps:

  • combine ingredients.
  • chill for 1/2 hours
  • serve with veggies or chips.
