I got this recipe from my mother-in-law and it is so delicious! The roast turns out so moist, tender, and flavorful with the perfect gravy to go with it. I like to serve it with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. Please give it a try!

3 -4 lbs beef chuck roast
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1 (1 ounce) package brown gravy mix
1 1/2 cups apple juice

Steps:

  • Spray crock pot with nonstick cooking spray and place roast inside.
  • Whisk together soup mix, gravy mix, and apple juice in a bowl and pour over roast.
  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours.

This 4 Ingredient Slow Cooked Chuck Roast is super simple, very delicious, and will make your house smell amazing!

3-4 lb chuck roast
24 oz regular ketchup
1 dry onion soup mix
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 275 degrees or the Crockpot to LOW.
  • Coat the bottom of the pan with ketchup and set roast on top.
  • Mix the ketchup, onion soup seasonings, and water until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture over the meat and cover.
  • Cook in the oven for 4 hours or until meat shreds easily.
  • Cook on LOW in the Crockpot for 6 hours or until meat shreds easily.
  • Shred the meat.
  • Let the meat sit in it's juices 10+ minutes after it is shredded.
  • Serve warm over mashed potatoes or inside hoagie rolls.

Need an easy weeknight meal? This chuck roast is for you. The Crock Pot does all the work. Jazzing up a jar of beef gravy creates a wonderful gravy that the roast cooks in. The end result is a very tender chuck roast.

1 can(s) French onion soup, condensed, 10.5 oz
1 jar(s) beef gravy, 12 oz.
1/2 c ginger ale
3 lb beef chuck roast
vegetable oil for searing

Steps:

  • 1. In the bottom of your Crock Pot, whisk together the onion soup, ginger ale, and gravy. Set aside.
  • 2. In a large skillet on medium-high heat, heat the oil (put just enough in to cover the bottom of the pan).
  • 3. Sear the roast for up to 2 minutes on all sides.
  • 4. When you have seared all sides of the roast, place the roast in the gravy mixture in the Crock Pot. Flip it over to make sure the roast is covered in gravy.
  • 5. Put the lid on the Crock Pot and cook on low for 8 hrs or 5 hours on high.

1 (12 ounce) can beer
1 (2/3 ounce) envelope Italian salad dressing mix

Steps:

  • Brown roast in hot oil in a skillet over medium-high heat 3 to 5 minutes on each side; transfer to a 6-qt. slow cooker. Whisk together beer and dressing mix; pour over roast. Cover; cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours or until tender. Remove roast from slow cooker. Skim fat from sauce; serve with roast.
  • I shred roast in sauce and serve in buns; added a little coarse ground pepper.

1 ½ teaspoons sea salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 yellow onions, quartered
3 cloves garlic, or more to taste
2 cups beef broth
1 cup vegetable broth
3 bay leaves
3 sprigs thyme, chopped

Steps:

  • Season beef chuck roast with sea salt and black pepper; put into the crock of a slow cooker with onion quarters and garlic cloves. Pour beef broth and vegetable broth over the roast. Lay bay leaves and thyme atop the roast.
  • Cook on Low for 7 to 8 hours.

  • Coat each side of the roast with oil. Combine steak seasoning and thyme in a small bowl. Liberally season both sides of the roast.
  • Heat skillet over high heat. Once the skillet is hot, sear each side of the roast for 2-3 minutes. Place roast in slow cooker.
  • If using vegetables wash, peel, and cut them into large pieces. Add them to a large bowl, then drizzle with a little bit of oil. Sprinkle on seasonings and mix until evenly distributed. Top the roast with the vegetables.
  • Pour beef broth into skillet. Allow broth to simmer for one minute. Scrape the bits up off the bottom of the skillet. Pour all liquid from skillet into the slow cooker.
