JENNY'S BLACK FOREST CAKE
This recipe is from a friend of my mother's. She used it for catering and has won the hearts of most who've tasted it. I've had to share this recipe with everyone who's been to one of my parties. Serve with whipped cream if desired.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 8 inch cake pans. Make sour milk by combining milk and vinegar. Set aside.
- Sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, oil, coffee and vanilla. Stir in the sour milk. Gradually beat in the flour mixture, mixing just until incorporated.
- Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow cake layers to cool completely before filling.
- To make the cherry filling: Combine the cherry pie filling and cherry liquor. Refrigerate cherry mixture until chilled, then fill cake.

JENNY'S BIRTHDAY CHOCOLATE SWISS ROLL
My sister, Jenny, requests this chocolate Swiss roll cake for her birthday almost every year.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line all sides of a 17x12x1-inch baking pan with aluminum foil. Spray with cooking spray.
- Stir 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Set aside.
- Beat eggs in a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer until very thick and lemon-colored, about 5 minutes. Gradually beat in white sugar until combined. Blend water and vanilla extract into mixture on low speed until combined.
- Gradually sift flour mixture into egg mixture, beating just until batter is smooth. Pour batter into the prepared pan, spreading to corners.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 12 to 15 minutes.
- Cover a tray or pan with a paper towel and sprinkle it with confectioners' sugar. Loosen cake from the edges of the baking pan and carefully invert onto the sugared paper towel; cake will be bottom-side up. Carefully remove the aluminum foil from cake bottom, trimming off stiff edges if necessary.
- Roll cake from the narrow end while hot, bottom-side out, including paper towel. Cool completely on a wire rack, about 30 minutes.
- Unroll cake and remove the paper towel.
- Whip heavy cream in a large bowl using an electric mixer until stiff peaks are just about to form. Beat in confectioners' sugar and vanilla extract until peaks form, making sure not to overbeat as cream will become lumpy and butter-like.
- Spread whipped cream over cooled cake. Roll cake back up and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar.

A seedy multigrain bread brings a new, nutty dimension to these seasoned, buttery croutons. These are great served warm on a cold, fresh salad.

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Place bread cubes in a large bowl; drizzle butter over cubes. Toss to evenly coat. Sprinkle half the Cajun seasoning, half the Parmesan cheese, and half the onion powder over cubes; toss to coat. Spread coated bread cubes onto the prepared baking sheet; sprinkle remaining Cajun seasoning, Parmesan cheese, and onion powder onto cubes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 7 minutes; stir and continue baking until crisp, about 8 more minutes.

JENNIE'S HEAVENLY SLOW COOKER CHICKEN
This is the best chicken slow cooker recipe ever, and I've tried a lot of them. I can't remember where I originally got it from; my version has been tweaked a little. I don't like mushrooms, but the mushrooms in the condensed soup are really big and easy to take out. Serve over hot cooked rice.

- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, and stir in the salad dressing mix, mushroom soup, cream cheese, and wine until the sauce mixture is hot, smooth and well combined. Place the chicken breasts into the bottom of a slow cooker, and pour the sauce mixture over the chicken. Cover and cook on Low setting until chicken is tender, about 4 hours.
