2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 large eggs, lightly beaten
3 medium tart apples, peeled and finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
STREUSEL:
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1/3 cup cold butter, cubed
1/3 cup hot caramel ice cream topping

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a small bowl, combine flour and brown sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Press into a well-greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake 15-18 minutes or until lightly browned., Meanwhile, in a large bowl, beat cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar and vanilla until smooth. Add eggs; beat on low speed just until combined. Spread over crust., In a small bowl, toss apples with cinnamon, nutmeg and remaining sugar; spoon over cream cheese layer. In another bowl, mix flour, brown sugar and oats; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apple layer., Bake 25-30 minutes or until filling is set. Drizzle with caramel topping; cool in pan on a wire rack 1 hour. Refrigerate at least 2 hours. Cut into bars.

2 (8 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup margarine, melted
¼ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Press one can of the crescent rolls into the bottom of the prepared pan. In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Spread over the crescent layer. Unroll the second can of crescent rolls and lay them on top of the cream cheese layer. Do not press down. Pour the melted margarine over the entire pan. Combine the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over the top.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the top is crisp and golden.

1 cup quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
8 cups apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced (Golden Delicious, Northern Spy, or Cortland)
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 teaspoon nutmeg
1 (300 ml) can eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
1 (225 g) package cream cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons lemon juice

Steps:

  • CRUST:.
  • Pulse all ingredients together except butter in food processor. Add butter and pulse until mixture resembles coarse meal. Reserve 1 1/2 cups for topping. Press remaining filling into parchment lined 13x9 inch baking pan. Bake in preheated 350F oven for 10 minutes.
  • FILLING:
  • Toss apples with lemon juice. Combine with remaining apple layer ingredients in large saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium low and cook until apples are tender (about 5 minutes). Cool completely.
  • CREAM CHEESE LAYER: Beat all ingredients together with electric mixer or food processor until smooth.
  • ASSSEMBLE AND BAKE:
  • Pour cream cheese layer over pre-baked crust. Top with apples. Sprinkle reserved crust ingredients over apples and bake for 40 minutes or until set. Cool. Cut into squares.

3 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking soda

5 to 6 cups thinly sliced peeled apples
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup cold water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar and baking soda; cut in 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside 2 cups for topping. Press remaining crumbs into a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Arrange apples over top; set aside. , In a saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, water, vanilla and remaining butter. Bring to a boil. Finally, after all these years, I've come up with a solution for people who can't decide whether to make an apple crumble or coffee cake. This features the best things about both of those recipes. It's like baking a crumb-topped coffee cake on top of another coffee cake!

2 teaspoons unsalted butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon fine sea salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
¾ teaspoon baking soda
1 ½ cups finely chopped toasted walnuts
⅓ cup packed light brown sugar
⅓ cup white sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup white sugar
2 large eggs
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup plain yogurt
2 each Honeycrisp apples

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 9x12-inch baking dish generously.
  • Whisk flour, sea salt, baking powder, and baking soda together in a bowl. Set aside.
  • Combine walnuts, brown sugar, white sugar, salt, cinnamon, and melted butter in a bowl. Mix until walnuts and sugar are thoroughly coated with butter.
  • Cream butter and sugar together in another bowl with a spatula until well blended. Add 1 egg and whisk until mixture is smooth, 2 to 3 minutes. Whisk in second egg until thoroughly incorporated. Add vanilla extract and yogurt; whisk together. Add flour mixture to wet ingredients; whisk just until flour disappears. Do not overmix.
  • Remove cores from apples. Cut across into 1/8- to 1/4-inch slices. Stack up a few slices, make 1 cut down the center, and dice across into cubes. Add to cake batter, folding in with a spatula until just combined.
  • Spread 1/2 of the batter evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Scatter 1/2 of the crumble mixture evenly over the top. Top with the rest of the batter in dollops. Spread carefully to evenly distribute, trying not to disturb the crumbs. Top with the rest of the crumb mixture. Press crumbs into the batter very gently.
  • Bake in the center of the preheated oven until a toothpick or bamboo skewer inserted into the center comes out clean, about 40 minutes. Let cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes, before slicing and serving.

6 cups apples, peeled and chopped (about 4 large)
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons milk

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl combine the dry topping ingredients. Cut in butter until crumbly. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a 13x9 dish; reserve the rest of the crumb mixture for the top.
  • In large bowl toss together the apples and other ingredients for the apples until the apples are coated evenly. Spread over the crust.
  • In another bowl cream together the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, flour and milk. Beat until combined and then spread over the apple layer; then sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.
  • Bake 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender. Cool completely on wire rack.
