At first this recipe sounds a little strange, but give it a try. It's very easy and really delicious!

½ cup butter, softened
¼ cup confectioners' sugar
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
2 (21 ounce) cans apple pie filling
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
¾ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Cream together butter or margarine and confectioners' sugar. Add 1 cup flour and mix gently just until dough comes together. Pat evenly into a 12 inch pizza pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove and spread with apple pie filling.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together cheese, 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apple filling and return pizza to oven for 25 to 30 minutes longer.

1 cup water
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3/4 cup cake flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast (proofed in water)
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup quick oats
1/2 cup firm butter or 1/2 cup margarine
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups confectioners' sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon melted margarine or 1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Combine all crust ingredients in a mixer and knead for 10 minutes. Place in a large bowl, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow to ferment as long as possible (12 to 24 hours).
  • Punch down dough now and then when you get a chance.
  • Preheat oven to 550 degrees F.
  • Roll the dough as thin as desired. Roll, flour, flip and repeat until you end up with a shape equal to 90% the size of your pan, as it will stretch when you transfer the dough. Place dough on pizza stone or in pan. Brush with vegetable oil and prick with fork. Pre-bake for 3 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and spread with cherry, blueberry or apple pie filling. If you want whole pieces of fruit with a thick topping, you will need 1 whole large can, otherwise you will need to purée half the filling if you want a thinner topping. After you have spread on the filling, you put on the crumb topping. Mix well with a fork or pastry blender. Spoon over pie filling. Use as much as you want of the topping. Put the rest in a zip-type bag in the refrigerator to save. Return pizza to the oven and continue to bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until crust is light golden brown. Remove and drizzle with Vanilla Glaze.
  • Yields one 16-inch dessert pizza.

3 tablespoons sugar
1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, cubed
APPLE TOPPING:
4 cups sliced peeled tart apples
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
CHEESE TOPPING:
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons caramel ice cream topping
STREUSEL:
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup cold butter, cubed

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine 1-1/2 cups flour, sugar, yeast and salt. In a saucepan, heat water, milk and butter to 120°-130°. Add to dry ingredients; beat for 2 minutes. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a firm dough. Turn onto a floured surface; cover and let rest for 15 minutes., Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook and stir apples in butter over medium heat for 2 minutes. Combine the sugar, flour and cinnamon; stir into skillet. Cook 3 minutes longer. Reduce heat to low; cook, uncovered, for 4-6 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring frequently. , In a small bowl, combine the cheese topping ingredients. For streusel, in a small bowl, combine flour and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. , Pat dough onto a greased 14-in. pizza pan, building up edges slightly. Spread with cheese topping, then apple topping. Sprinkle with streusel. Bake at 375° for 20-25 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Serve warm or cold.

1-3/4 to 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 envelope Fleischmann's® RapidRise® Yeast
1-1/2 tsps sugar
3/4 tsps salt
2/3 cup very warm water ((120° to 130°F))
3 tbsps canola oil
1/3 cup corn meal (for dusting pizza stone)
2 apples (Macintosh or Granny Smith, peeled, cored, diced )
1 tbsp unsalted butter (softened, keep one tablespoon separate)
3 tbsps brown sugar (keep portions separate )
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
4 tbsps butter (softened)
1/2 cup vanilla frosting

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees f.
  • Add chopped apples, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and butter to a skillet, and cook until apples are tender. It will take about 5 minutes over medium heat. Apples will caramelize in a slightly thick, brown sauce. Once cooked, remove from heat and set aside.
  • Combine one cup of all-purpose flour, Fleischmann's® RapidRise® Yeast, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Whisk until combined, and then add to a stand mixer.
  • Add very warm water, and oil to dry mixture. Turn mixer on medium speed, and using dough hook, start to work the mixture.
  • Slowly add in remaining flour. For this recipe, I did use the full 2 1/4 cups of flour for the perfect consistency.
  • Dough will start to form a ball on the hook and will be slightly sticky.
  • Knead on a floured surface. If dough is too sticky sprinkle additional flour on it and work into the dough.
  • Allow Fleischmann's® RapidRise® Yeast dough to rest for 10 minutes.
  • Once it has rested, sprinkle half the cornmeal on your pizza stone and put it in the oven.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cornmeal on the back of a baking sheet.
  • Stretch and form dough ball into a 12-14" pizza crust; set aside.

Dough for single-crust pie
2/3 cup sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 medium baking apples, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch slices
TOPPING:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup rolled oats
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/4 to 1/2 cup caramel ice cream topping or caramel apple dip
Vanilla ice cream, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to fit a 12-in. pizza pan; fold under or flute edge. Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon in a bowl. Add apples and toss. Arrange apples in a single layer in a circular pattern to completely cover crust. Combine the first 5 topping ingredients; sprinkle over apples. , Bake until apples are tender, 35-40 minutes. Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle with caramel topping or dip. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 pizza crust
1 can apple pie filling*
½ cup quick oats
½ cup dark brown sugar
½ c flour
½ stick margarine (1/4 of a cup)
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 cup Confectioner's sugar (glaze)
2 Tablespoons milk (glaze)
1 teaspoon vanila (glaze)

Steps:

  • Place pizza crust on baking sheet and preheat oven to 350. Open pie filling and dice it up a bit while it is inside the can. Spread over pizza crust.
  • In small bowl, place flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir to combine. Cut margarine into slices and place in bowl. Using a long tined fork, cut margarine into mixture until crumbly. Sprinkle over top of pie filling in pizza and bake at 350 for twenty five minutes, or until lightly golden. Top with glaze, below.
  • Place all glaze ingredients in small bowl, stir until smooth. Can add a smidge more milk if mixture is too thick, more sugar if it is too thin. Drizzle over Apple Pizza with spoon.
  • *To use fresh apples. Peel and chop two to three cups apples. Saute' in two tablespoons butter until tender. Add a few tablespoons sugar if you like but keep them a bit tart because the topping adds a lot of sweetness. Continue with recipe.
