APPLE DIP
This was a childhood memory that I was craving, so I called my nanny and she gave the recipe to me. The second I tasted it, I was flushed with happy thoughts. It tastes like caramel! Enjoy with slices of apples for a healthy snack! Be creative: You can add peanut butter, nuts or chocolate sauce, or try using strawberry flavored cream cheese. Have fun and enjoy!

APPLE DIP
This is a great dip for sliced apples of any kind. The recipe uses the plain toffee bits but I accidently bought the kind with chocolate once and used them anyway and it was still really good.

- Mix with electric mixer until well blended.
- Store in refrigerator.
- Best if made the day before serving.
- Set out to soften a little before serving.
- Serve with apple slices.
APPLE PIE TWISTS
Steps:
- Sprinkle some flour onto a large piece of parchment paper on a work surface and lay out one piece of the puff pastry. Spread the apple butter over the entire surface of the pastry. Place the other piece of pastry on top.
- Flour a rolling pin and roll the pastry out until it is pressed into a flat, cohesive square sheet. A little apple butter will squeeze out; just make sure not to press it all out!
- Use a large jar lid or measuring cup to score the center of the pastry square to keep an uncut center. Make 4 cuts from the center (keeping the lid in place); there should be 4 even quadrants. Cut each quadrant into 4 equal strips, all making a sunburst pattern from the center. Twist the strips twice around, bringing the tips back to their original position.
- Transfer the parchment to a baking sheet. Remove the lid from the center and place a stencil in the center (if using). Brush the puff pastry with the egg and sprinkle it evenly with the turbinado sugar. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes and up to overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Remove the stencil if using. Bake until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
APPLE CRISP WITH A TWIST
Nicely spiced apple crisp gets a delightful twist from Marilynn Ostrander of Lehigh Acres, Florida. She drops sweet dollops of apricot jam over the traditional crumb topping. Served warm, it pairs well with ice cream or frozen yogurt.

Transfer to a 3-cup baking dish coated with cooking spray. , For topping, combine the flour and sugar in a small bowl; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Stir in pecans. Sprinkle over apple mixture. Drop jam by teaspoonfuls over the top., Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until apple slices are tender. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
