BACON AND EGG BREAKFAST STROMBOLI

delicious bacon, cheddar cheese and scrambled eggs are rolled up in puff pastry for a breakfast-spin on an italian classic.

Time: 45 minutes

Number Of Ingredients: 7

Ingredients: bacon,puff pastry,eggs,sharp cheddar cheese,egg,water,salt and pepper

Steps:

  1. place oven rack in center of oven and preheat to 400f
  2. cook bacon
  3. remove to paper-towel lined plate
  4. lightly flour work surface and unfold puff pastry sheet , rolling it out to a 14" x 14" square
  5. pinch seams created by folds to seal them together as you roll
  6. move dough often and dust sticky areas with flour
  7. arrange 4 bacon slices in 2 lines from left to right: one across the top , the other across the bottom , leaving 1 border
  8. between rows of bacon spread scrambled eggs running entire width of bacon lines , but not all the way to edge of dough
  9. scatter cheese over top
  10. beat remaining egg with water and brush around perimeter of dough
  11. begin rolling stromboli by taking the longer side of dough and rolling it over filling
  12. pinch seam to seal
  13. place stromboli on parchment lined baking sheet with seam side down
  14. tuck ends under to seal and brush entire roll with egg wash
  15. sprinkle dough with salt and pepper to taste
  16. bake for 2530 minutes , or until crust is deep golden brown
  17. let sit for at least 5 minutes before slicing
  18. serve hot
    60-minutes-or-less    time-to-make    course    preparation    breakfast
