1 tsp Sea salt
1/4 tsp Black pepper
2 tbsp Olive oil
1 large Onion ((sliced into thin half moons))
2 cloves Garlic ((minced))
1 tbsp Fresh thyme ((or 1 tsp dried thyme))
1 cup Chicken broth, reduced sodium
1.5 oz Cream cheese ((cut into small chunks))

Steps:

  • Season the pork chops on both sides with sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper.
  • Heat the olive oil in a dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear on both sides, about 3 minutes per side without moving, until browned. Transfer the pork chops to a plate and set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low or medium. Using the same dutch oven, saute the sliced onions for 15-20 minutes, until caramelized.
  • Once the onions are caramelized, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Add the minced garlic and thyme leaves to the dutch oven. Saute for about a minute, until fragrant.
  • Add the chicken broth to the dutch oven. Scrape any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for about 2-3 minutes, until it gets thicker and the volume is reduced by at least 1/4.
  • Remove from heat. Add the cream cheese. Stir in the cream cheese until it melts into the sauce.
  • Return the pork chops to the dutch oven and spoon the sauce and onions over them. Cover with the lid and bake for 20-25 minutes, until cooked through. (Time will vary depending on the thickness of your pork chops - use a thermometer to check and cook to 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).)

1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 small onion, sliced and separated into rings
1 tablespoon canola oil
1/4 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
1 envelope pork gravy mix
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 cup water

Steps:

  • Sprinkle pork chops with pepper and salt. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook chops with onion in oil for 2-3 minutes on each side or until lightly browned., Add broth. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until a thermometer reads 160°. , In a small bowl, whisk the gravy mix, garlic powder and water. Pour over pork. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 3-4 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Freeze option: Cool pork and gravy. Freeze in freezer containers. This is a wonderful comfort food and has become one of my family's favorite pork chop recipes --- you may season the breadcrumbs anyway desired adding in Parmesan cheese to your breadcrumb mixture will only improve the flavor --- depending on the size of your pork chops one more won't hurt if you have the room in your baking pan, and baking time will vary depending on the thickness, do not use fast-fry for this -- this is *very* good!

6 pork chops (do not use fast-fry pork chops)
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1 -2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 large eggs, beaten
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups seasoned dry bread crumbs (see Kittencal's Seasoned Dry Italian Breadcrumbs)
2 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons butter
2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 (10 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, well drained
3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup dry white wine (can use a few tablespoons more)
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Steps:

  • Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  • Pat the pork chops dry using paper towels, then season with seasoned salt and garlic powder pepper.
  • Place the eggs in a bowl, then flour in another bowl and the breadcrumbs in another bowl.
  • Heat oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Dredge the pork chops firstly in flour then in eggs allowing any excess egg to drip off.
  • Lastly coat in seasoned breadcrumbs.
  • Brown the pork chops in hot oil about 4-5 minutes per side or until the breading is light golden brown.
  • Transfer the chops to the baking dish.
  • Cover with foil.
  • Set oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Bake for about 1 hour.
  • Meanwhile in a bowl combine cream of mushroom soup with sliced mushrooms, milk, white wine, black pepper and cayenne pepper (if using).
  • After the 1 hour baking pour the mushroom gravy over the pork chops, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  • Replace the foil and bake for another 25-30 minutes or until chops are tender.

½ cup all-purpose flour
1 large onion, sliced 1/4 inch thick
2 cubes chicken bouillon
2 cups boiling water

Steps:

  • Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, and then dredge in 1/2 cup flour. In a skillet over medium heat, lightly brown chops in a small amount of oil.

4 boneless center cut pork chops (about 1" thick)
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil (or other high-heat oil like canola)
1 tablespoon fresh chopped oregano (or 1 teaspoon dried)
1 tablespoon fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 lemon (zested and cut into wedges)
1/2 cup dry white wine (such as sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, or pinot grigio)
1/2 cup chicken stock
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and place an oven rack in the center. Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel and season evenly on all sides with the kosher salt (1 teaspoon) and black pepper (1/2 teaspoon).
  • Heat an oven-safe skillet on high or medium-high heat, depending on your burners, until very hot. This will take only 30 seconds or so with stainless steel, but up to 5 minutes with cast iron. (to test, you shouldn't be able to hold your hand a couple inches over the skillet's surface for more than a few seconds.)
  • Add the oil (2 tablespoons) and swirl to coat the bottom of the pan (or use a spatula to evenly distribute it). Add the pork chops to the skillet and allow to sear, undisturbed, for 2 minutes.   • Turn off the heat on the burner and flip the pork chops. (Tip: they should release easily from the bottom of the skillet- if they don't, they may need more time searing.) With the seared side facing up, sprinkle the remainder of the fresh herbs, minced garlic, and lemon zest on top of the pork chops. Place the lemon wedges in the spaces around the pork chops. Slide skillet onto center oven rack and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until internal temperature is 145 degrees F (cooking time will vary depending on thickness and oven temperature).
  • Remove pork chops to a plate or cutting board and allow to rest for 5 minutes (tent with foil if resting for longer than that to keep them warm).
