HOT DOG FRIED RICE



Hot Dog Fried Rice image

2 cups broccoli florets
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 onion, halved and thinly sliced
1 tablespoon grated ginger
2 cloves garlic, grated
3 cups cooked brown rice
1 cup diced hot dogs
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
2 scallions, white and light green parts, sliced
4 fried eggs, for serving
Chopped fresh cilantro, for serving
Sriracha sauce, for serving

Steps:

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil; prepare an ice water bath. Blanch the broccoli in the boiling water, then immediately transfer to the ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the oil and onions and saute until the onions are translucent and tender, about 5 minutes. Add the ginger and garlic and quickly stir-fry for about 30 seconds. Add the rice, hot dogs and broccoli and stir-fry 2 minutes. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil and scallions.
  • Serve topped with fried eggs, cilantro and Sriracha.

1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup uncooked long grain rice
1-1/2 cups water, divided
5 hot dogs, halved lengthwise and cut into 1/2-inch slices
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes, undrained
3 tablespoons ketchup

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, saute onion and green pepper in oil until tender. Add rice; cook and stir for 2-3 minutes. Add 1-1/4 cups water and hot dogs. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Add the tomatoes, ketchup and remaining water. Cover and cook until rice is tender.

1-1/2 cups chopped celery
1-1/2 cups ketchup

2 packages (1 pound each) hot dogs

Steps:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, saute onion in butter until tender. Add celery, ketchup, water, lemon juice, sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and mustard; bring to a boil. 2 tablespoons butter
1 onion, chopped
2 tablespoons brown sugar
¾ cup ketchup
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
4 hot dogs
½ (8 ounce) package processed cheese food (such as Velveeta®), cubed, or to taste
4 hot dog buns
4 sheets aluminum foil

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in onion and brown sugar and cook until onion is soft but not yet brown, about 5 minutes. Add ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce; bring to a simmer. Remove from heat.
  • Cut a slit through each hot dog and fill with cubes of cheese food. Place dogs in buns and cover meat with onion sauce, about 3 tablespoons each. Wrap in aluminum foil.

1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 tomato sauce can water
1 pkg Oscar Mayer Wieners, regular or low-fat
2-3 oz (or more) shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Cook rice as directed in water. Set aside.
  • Mix tomato sauce and water and heat. Cut hot dogs into 1/4 inch crosswise slices, and add to tomato sauce & water. Simmer until hot.
  • In same pan as rice was cooked, add hot dogs and sauce, mix well. Then add cheese, mix again. Put lid on pan, and allow cheese to melt. Mix again and serve.
