1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 cups dried lentils, picked over
1 cup water
2 cups vegetable broth
1/3 cup ketchup
1/3 cup barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon pepper
6 onion hamburger buns, split
1/4 cup butter, softened

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together in a crock pot.
  • Cook on low 8-9 hours or on high for 4 hours.
