Number Of Ingredients 8

Beef heart, trimmed and sliced thin {I used one pound's worth, but the marinade worked for a three pound heart}
1/4 cup raw apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup organic raw coconut aminos
3 cloves organic garlic, pressed
1-inch piece organic ginger, grated
Fat of choice {bacon, lard, tallow, coconut oil - I used coconut oil}
Himalayan sea salt

Steps:

  • Place the sliced beef heart in a casserole dish. In a small bowl, whisk the vinegars, coconut aminos, garlic, and ginger together. Pour the mixture over the beef heart, tossing to coat. Cover the casserole dish and place in the fridge to marinate overnight. Heat a deep sided cast iron skillet {or wok} over medium-high heat with your fat of choice. Add the beef heart slices and stir around constantly. Cook until browned, time depends on how thinly the heart is sliced and how well-done you want it cooked. Ours was about 5-6 minutes. Once the meat is done to your liking, remove and hit with a crack of sea salt. Serve with cauliflower rice and extra coconut aminos.

This is an easy Pinoy recipe if you don't have much time. The beef can be sliced and marinated ahead of time making the meat even tastier. Eat the dish alone or serve with rice. Use a tender cut such as New York steak or prime rib.

1 pound New York strip steak, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 ½ teaspoons white sugar
3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 medium sweet onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 pound snow peas
¾ cup green peas
1 medium carrot, sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
1 medium red bell pepper, seeded and cut into chunks

Steps:

  • Place sliced steak in a large bowl; sprinkle cornstarch over top and toss to coat.
  • Whisk soy sauce and sugar together in a small bowl until sugar dissolves; pour over the steak. Mix and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic to the hot oil; cook and stir until tender, 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in oyster sauce and season with salt and pepper.
  • Add snow peas, green peas, carrot, celery, and bell pepper; cook and stir until vegetables are crisp-tender, 7 to 10 minutes. Remove vegetables from the skillet.
  • Remove steak from the marinade, shaking off any excess moisture; discard the marinade.
  • Heat remaining 2 tablespoons oil in the same skillet. Fry steak in the hot skillet to your desired degree of doneness, 3 to 5 minutes per side for medium. Add the vegetables back to the skillet; mix well and cook until just heated through. Serve hot.

  • Heat a large heavy pan or wok over high heat and add 1 Tbsp oil. When oil is hot, add beef in a single layer and sautee undisturbed 2-3 mins. Stir and sautee another 2 min or until nearly cooked through. Season lightly with salt and pepper, add ginger and garlic and sautee 1 min.
  • Drizzle beef with sauce to taste (I added 5 Tbsp) and stir-fry another 1 min or until beef is fully cooked through. Remove beef to a plate and cover to keep warm. Wipe pan clean with a paper towel.
  • Place clean pan over high heat and add 1 Tbsp oil. Once oil is hot, add mushrooms, season lightly with s & p and stir fry until golden (5 min). Transfer mushrooms to the plate with beef.
